- Castor has an XY chromosome. While this may not have been stated publically, it is a virtual certainty based on previous evidence.
- Castor has internal testes.
- Castor was required to reduce testosterone in order to be able to compete (for a number of years?) and Castor’s performance suffered. After an appeal to CAS, Castor is now allowed to compete without restriction. Who made the appeal, Castor or Castor’s federation?

An Indian intersex sprinter, Dutee Chand, challenged the IAAF's requirement that such athletes undergo chemical treatment to reduce their levels of performance enhancing testosterone. Her case reached the CAS (Court of Arbitration in Sport.) Unbelievably, they ruled there was no scientific proof that testosterone is a performance enhancer. The CAS suspended the IAAF's treatment requirement, giving the IAAF 2 years to return with "proof" (which Semenya is currently supplying in spades, by destroying (and ripping off) actual female competitors.
The arrogance/incompetence of the CAS is stunning. They issued a ruling that immediately invalidated itself and destabilized a sport, in the process deposing and discarding with present champions who achieved their status through years of hard work and by following the rules. The psychological impact of that on the 800's fastest runners (Wilson hasn't run a 2:03 since probably high school) has to be intense.
If the CAS sits back (in its quaint chateau in Lausanne) and does not the remedy the injustice it has inflicted (which seems likely) then the athletes themselves should protest, because they are getting hosed.

Semenya is fast, but lots of other guys can beat him. The standards have to be changed or this will ruin women's sports.
BTW, does anyone remember the world record holder in that event, Jarmila Kratovilova? A very masculine runner.

This was addressed back in 2009.
Caster was born with both genitalia (both malformed to a degree). The African witch doctor was understandably confused by the situation and ordered for the penis to be lopped off. The brother probably originally had a fairly substantial penis (from the point of view of non-Africans).
So then his tribe viewed him as a woman and "surprisingly" he was great at female sports...wow...who would of thought?
Wow. I\'m all about equality, etc (the Libturd handle is sort of a joke, but I\'m definitely a liberal)... but this is nuts.
I\'m not sure of the best way to handle it, but it\'s completely unfair she/he is running against women. Semenya sort of runs like a high school guy - good, but her form certainly isn\'t world class and she looks chunky and inefficient out there. To see her just destroy in the final 100 is really depressing.
My view on the transgender bathroom thing is, who gives a crap? They\'ve been using the bathrooms all along and you didn\'t even know... stop freaking out about completely imaginary threats.
However, THIS has some real consequences. I feel bad for whoever WOULD have won gold at Rio without Semenya.
I love this kind of stuff. This is the end of women's sports for those women born without internal testicles. At the world level there will be men's events and there will be "women's" events, dominated by inter-sexed individuals who are genetically male.

And this situation really gets difficult to deal with when the woman is black because then people will accuse you of thinking that Caster is masculine just because she is black.
Yes, black women have more testosterone. In fact, studies have shown that the average West African black woman has a higher testosterone level than the average Southeast Asian male.
But Semenya Caster goes above and beyond this natural tendency for masculinity. Semenya Caster makes her African teammates actually look feminine in comparison.
