Back on topic, I bet ritz could still make a run at Sub 4 if he wanted to. He was able to go between marathon and track with some success. I bet he could whip up some speed if he wanted.
Hall is less likely since he seems to be taking training advice from Xfit bro these days. I'm thinking he might be able to challenge the weighted vest adjusted 5k record though.

This thread is about Ritz and Hall but we can discuss Bekele too. Do you really think that none of these guys ever ran a sub 4 mile in training? We're talking about just a hair faster than 3k (or estimated 3k) pace for Ritz and Hall during their primes, and just a hair faster than 5k pace for Bekele during his prime.
If mere mortals pop off a 1-mile rep at slightly faster than 5k pace (or even slightly faster than 3k pace) during a hard build-up, then don't you think that any of these three runners could have easily done that?

I also might do this in order to start a peaking process - as stated previously.
