Not necessarily. As long as the transfer was made legally, there's no problem.
For example, Diack could charge someone at Nike for "consulting services." Paying a consultant isn't illegal. The mechanism probably isn't that simple, but you get the idea.
The big problem with this assumption is ADIDAS is the official IAAF sponsor. Why would NIKE pay to bring an ADIDAS meet to the USA?

I think Wejo is correct to focus on the area where we have details on at the moment. There is more to come with Diack. I think that will go on for some time and it would be great if the press stayed on it, particularly as it relates to the stories from last year about the IAAF treatment of values. An investigation can start going into older communications and practices. This probably did not start just a few years ago and the practice may have been refined over time.
I think Coe needs to get as much transparency as possible ASAP. Before anyone says anything, I know there is a chance that he may be implicated but I am assuming he is not. If that is the case, he should:
1. Set up new ethical standards.
2. Disclose all past wrongdoings.
3. Provide all remaining test data to independent experts.
4, Offer t new elections and governance soon. If he wants to run for office again, he can answer for his handling of this event and what happened while he was VP.
Diack is out of power and was arrested and released on bail by the french authorities. If Diack was in power every headline would be "Diack has to go" and people would be equally pulling for his resignation and Russia's ban from competition. Since his egg has been fried all attention is on the Russians to get their punishment.

Yeah, but Diack still has millions in Swiss banks I am assuming. Getting him out of office is not all that much justice at all.

You do realize Diack has been arrested in France and is facing bribery charges?
Not the FBI but french authorities and now interpol.
Frankly I think this is something that an investigative journalist should dig into. Two things we know, Diack accepts bribes and Nike will pay their way to further their brand. Add to that the fact that there was no bidding, and it seems very dubious at best.
