A better headline would have been "Man Develops New Method for Races of One Stride Length, but not longer."

It's deceptly simply physics but many experts have been fooled:
"To achieve the optimum running technique, the key is to make the greatest possible use of terrestrial gravity. A skilled, knowledgeable runner should be able to work with the force of gravity just as a yachtsman gains energy from the wind."

Why the heck are they wasting their time with running? If you can use gravity like a yachtsman uses wind, build a gravity powered car and solve the world's energy problems.
Wow it took the Posers to finally and accurately describe the feeling I had in my 1500m PR. I felt like a tree that had been chopped down! No wonder I ran so fast. That extra half a stride of "free" energy translated to a 7-second new PR!
