1:48.7 last 800m for Centro

Leo made yet another team, while Blankenship was just out, but let's compare which one is the 1500/5000 and which the 800/1500 guy. Leo's 800 pr is 1:44.6 or something like that and he just ran low 1:45 in NYC, while Blankenship ran 1:48. I've not seen any 5000m results from Leo, at least as a pro, not sure about before, nor from Blankenship, but obviously the speed suggests that Leo is 8/15 and Blankenship 1500/5000.

I also have Centro at just a hair under 39 for the last 300m, very quick in a 3:37 and he wasn't challenged at the end, and this on a super-fast surface (in very hot weather), but compare to Ryun's Dusseldorf, where he closed in 36.5 or so in a 3:38, on not very good cinder.

I don't think Manzano's training is very distance based, so 5k probably would not work for him.

Manzano ran Carlsbad last year I think and didn't do so well, even though he supposedly adapted his training more for 5k. Doesn't mean he won't be able to transition at some point, but remember he ran a 1500 PR just last year

Who are the commentators in this video? One guy was quite good, but he was accompanied by another (very loud) man who seemed borderline retarded at best, and completely unfamiliar with the sport.

He wasn't even breathing hard after that 1:48. Looked like he just finished his first pace rep 400, at 58 sec. Not closing in 52.

Did you see the last 800 splits from 9th place down was 1:51 or faster! Can you imagine running a 1:51 last 800 and taking 9th?!? And keep in mind no one even started moving til 600 to go!!!! Their last 600 was intense!

& vast majority of guys here believe centro is in 3'29/3'30 shape

so what does that imply for Ryun considering dusseldorf track had been chewed up by a 10k run earlier ???
