If Letsrun is the only "media" questioning an athlete who has returned from suspension on PED use then that is a problem.

We need a clean pure sport. Bottom line. And if you get caught how can you expect not to get questions about PEDs? You made the comeback, it's part of the price.

Is this a serious post? How can you think that some weird personal experience about personal limits is legittimate proof that drugs have long-lasting benefits?

Yes this is what we want. We want to take a dying sport that no one in this country cares about, and then on the biggest stage the sport has in this country bring up this non-sense. Because from what I've been told every "true fan" of this sport wants slow sprints, short jumps, sad throws, and pack runners in distance races, just as long as they can be assured they did it clean....Congratulations, you can also say good-bye to any kind of dominance in track for America ever again, accept possibly shot-put. In a climate where its impossible to get funding to train, where our sport is in danger of being cut at MASSIVE levels once the chickens come home to roost on the Power 5 situation, and other countries taking more spots on the podium than American kids at NCAA's, lets come at one of the only hopes we have left with a line of questioning that is a lose-lose. Nobody important cares, and it can only serve to destroy american athletes, thus decreasing an already decreasing interest in the sport. Test em all!!! yeah witch hunts are always awesome....for everyone involved....good grief.

I definitely like Wejo more than Rojo. I agree with and believe the last statement of his post. Some of us dislike the negative banter around here, but truth be told, the Brojos are just unwilling to accept assumptions when they pertain to drug use. I can't help but respect them for that.

I support this perspective. Lifetime gains/thresholds stay with you. On top of any scientific research didn't Hescher(?) say something to this effect a few years ago?

Gaitlin should no longer be in our sport. Support lifetime bans to clean up T&F, XC, RR.

I don't mind races/throws/jumps that no longer reach WR levels - as mentioned on this site for years - we need to think in terms of in-race competition not doped WR chasing.

I never said my experience was conclusive scientific evidence . I made real observations and accounted for the variables and this is the beginning of the scientific approach. I've read the real data that supports long lasting effects of drugs and my post with my experience presents more substance than every other post that either complains , lists rumors , or makes false accusations .

If I am wrong then present a counter argument with real data or share a better observation and make me look stupid . You have chosen to attack me as an individual poster and your position is weakened.

I am not on a witch hunt against NOP and I have been a huge fun of Galen Rupp since I was in middle school. I strongly support Nike, cross border capitalism , and the Free is a revolutionary shoe that changed my running for the better .

To the poster who said the sport will die without fast times through drugs . If this is the case then i want it fully disclosed to the fans at every meet and game that Gatlin and Arod are benefiting from cheating in the past . Their endorsement money should be cut to minimum wage and the money from the pockets of fans should be reinvested in the growth of the sport . These drug cheats are in denial and they are arrogantly pushing forward exploiting fans along the way.

As a matter of fact, I fully support drug use and I think marijuana should be legal for all athletes across the board . If drugs in athletics is the future then I want full transparency .

I've made proposals in the past to make track and field a more popular support and I know this can be done without drug cheats needing to hit fast times . One idea is introducing an investment / gambling based system using real digital currency . The rules of the system would need to be created to prevent fraud and race rigging while at the same time encouraging investment in the athletes of the sport and the stakeholders of the sport . A system that allowed , for example, micro bets on who wins the race , the order of finish , and the winning times or the average of the times. No odds would be displayed maybe until the last lap . Again there are infinite number of rules we could make but I assure you a full proof system could be developed to encourage growth and bring more revenues .

Just today , for example , Britian awarded its first banking license to a mobile app company . The Fintech revolution is well underway and I fully support a running niche finance system with positive incentives . Running attracts some of the best and brightest minds and this community isn't harnessing these synergies . I Know many others would agree that Letsrun is more than running and I've come here for the best wisdom in finance , history , politics , academic approach , and witty responses which can be applied to everyday life.

In short, I believe The running world can be improved without using drug cheats . I want all cheats held accountable and banned from every sport for life and endorsement money returned . I will support Rojo and Wejo in their efforts while doing what I can to improve the sport of running . I criticize Rojo to the fullest in many ways but he has good intentions on the drug cheat front .

If Alberto is clean then he still isn't using his power to remove the cheats from the sport. He has a voice at Nike and he should use it to hold the cheats and their agents accountable and until he does this I cannot blame Rojo and Wejo for their efforts .

Someone please present a real counter argument and make me wrong .

You guys have serious reading comprehension problems. I stated exactly why I have a problem with his post. Also, his conclusion is not completely accurate if he arrived at it with false logic.

Correction. Gatlin was screwed.

His first offense should have been annulled. In fact, on appeal, he was declared innocent of any doping violation by the arbitration panel.

So for his "second" offense, which rightfully should be considered his first, there are two possible scenarios:

1) It was "intentional" -- the penalty then should have been two years. Even Tygart says that Gatlin deserves to be allowed to compete.

2) He really was "sabotaged" -- the penatly should still be two years, but instead, he served four years, and he still has to suffer questioning from Weldon for the rest of his life for a story that has already been told.

Gatlin has already paid a high price for over-zealous drug-enforcement. He has more than paid his dues. What does "letsrun.com" need to move on?

This actually sounds great to me, so I'll continue to support LetsRun. There is nothing biased about asking questions about doping any more than there is nothing biased about asking questions about the weather, crowd support and other vanilla topics.

Then again I don't watch other professional sports. No matter how "popular" they are, I don't see the appeal to watching drugged up jocks smash into each other. That's my opinion. Whether I'm important or not, I care about track. Quality > Quantity

I, like most other track fans, enjoy following the pro side because we are runners ourselves. The only thing killing the sport for me is when I can no longer relate to the athletes. All I can control in a situation like this is my own values. I value humility, hard work, honesty and a clean sport. I do not value jealousy, xenophobia, lying or cheating to win.
