Correct. EPO got Bernie close to the record. Rather amazing for a guy who tried and tried but just didn't have the wheels to break 1:46 in the 800 (which lends credence to the drugs drove Bernie claims). Mo couldn't run 1:46 even if drugs were openly allowed, no way will we ever see him running 3:25+, even if he's never caught or PC officials allow him to get away with it a la Lagat when he was popped.
Seb Coe was probably the fastest sprinter to ever run the 1500 and be successful. He could certainly take EL G and Lagat in a 400/800 all in their prime. Yet Coe's 1500 PR still isn't as close to 3:26 as Mo Farah's 3:28.
Farah is a 10k guy. He trains to race 10k as he is the reigning OG Champion. You don't reach his level at the 10k by training as a mid d guy. Anyone whom believes otherwise is a fool.
The OP did not say Mo was going to run 3:25. He won't ever even pursue it. It was a hypothetical question. My hypothetical answer is that he certainly has the potential as a guy whom has run 3:28 while not training specific to the 1500 and not really racing that distance nearly as much as the worlds best 1500 men.
