Any student of T&F knows that Mo trains to cover every move that could be thrown his way, which is why he has been successful in championship racing. He has yet to have a season dedicated to chasing the clock. Yet Mo could still run a 3:28 1500. That is some sick talent right there. Kenny B doesn't even have those wheels and Ken B is the GOAT.

El G trained and ran many 1500m races. Probably more 1500M races than any WR holder at the event and was still beaten in 2000 by Ngeny (3:28 guy). By 2004 El G was on his down turn and not going to run any faster but still better than his closet rival Lagat (also 3:26 guy).
Point being El G trained as a mid d guy his whole career and chased the clock in years that he wasn't trying to win a global championships. Mo is essential a 10K runner who ran a faster 1500 than anyone in the UK or Euro Cont ever has.
But keep chasing your tail. You will catch it eventually.

Galen should hop into some legit outdoor 1500s. If he had any other coach I'm sure Rupp would be a US b level 1500 runner.

How do you think improved his time to 3:28 as a veteran runner under Alberto if not developing his speed?
Never say never, no one quite expected him to go and throw down a 3:28 1500m as a 5/10km runner.
However, I still find it shocking that after running that time, like a single woman having a crisis because her sister's getting married, he ditched the obvious track aspirations to go and fail (relatively) in the marathon. Why Mo Farah? Why?!!!

Your reading comprehension is horrid. Rupp doesn't have MO's speed. And as I clearly stated could not beat Manzano or Centro in a championship style 1500. He doesn't have the wheels. He could quite possibly make a championship team as his 3:50 mile PR is not exactly "pedestrian."

But by your logic, as a 5K 10K runner, Galen should be able to improve 3 seconds by working on his speed. That would put him at about 3:30. Galen Rupp is as likely to run 3:30 as Mo is to run 3:26, in other words never.

Seb Coe was probably the fastest sprinter to ever run the 1500 and be successful. He could certainly take EL G and Lagat in a 400/800 all in their prime. Yet Coe's 1500 PR still isn't as close to 3:26 as Mo Farah's 3:28.
Farah is a 10k guy. He trains to race 10k as he is the reigning OG Champion. You don't reach his level at the 10k by training as a mid d guy. Anyone whom believes otherwise is a fool.
The OP did not say Mo was going to run 3:25. He won't ever even pursue it. It was a hypothetical question. My hypothetical answer is that he certainly has the potential as a guy whom has run 3:28 while not training specific to the 1500 and not really racing that distance nearly as much as the worlds best 1500 men.
