All these morons on here are always complaining that Kenyan's aren't tested out of competition but yet she tested positive in an out of competition test. So which is it?

All the Africans should be banned now as a preemptive strike. They are all dirty anyway. Either they are being coached by Italians or Hermens/Rosa who we know are dirty, or themseleves which makes it even moreso that they are dirty. All African records should be expunged, and throw in Radcliffe as well since she is British and that they all cheated (except Farah as he is based in the US)has been known for quite some time - no way Coe, Cram, Ovett and Moorcroft could have been world-recod holders with their teeth.

Have people forgotten about the German Journalist who found easy access to PEDs in Kenya? That coupled with minimal testing facilities, rare out of competition testing, life changing single paydays, European coaches/agents who get a cut and have cycling medical connections, and consistently insane marathon times point to something not quite on the level. Even if caught, most of the money is still in the hands of the cheater and will never be recovered. Their life is changed for the better even if their results are erased. What's the incentive NOT to use?
A really good post, I agree with everything you said except, "A LOT of the top marathoners are likely on PEDs". I think just like all events, some are, but most probably aren't. The women's record is 2:15, you can't have all of these doped up runners and most of them can't come with in 4 minutes of the record. If the best doped up Africans can only run 2:19, then Paula must be from another planet.

Because the World Marathon Majors within the past year+ started financially contributing towards getting more testing in these "remote" locations. Hence, why we're seeing more Kenyans testing positive. Drug testing is highly under-funded to begin with, esp. for doing it in a place like Kenya where there's a lot more technical difficulties for doing it.
Suspend her pending further investigation and any resultung appeals and if she is finally judged to have used a banned substance BAN HER FOR LIFE. Until the governing body is willing to do this to all cheats, runners will keep using. No 1-2 year ban. One strike and you're out,

For too long that door has been closed .
They need to do out of competion test, in the 40 - 50 days before a great event. Usually they stop with epo a week before the race cos after a week any method fails to detect any rhEPO.While during the use of EPO or after few days from last injection
test can separate endogenous EPO from rhEPO being the former more acidic.
And dont forget that the benefit of EPO can last for 40- 50 days.

And absolutely useless because blood testing cannot be carried out in Kenya and Ethiopia . Major fraud
blood samples have to get to a lab in very short time-window to be viable
under strict conditions

Reduced by a net of one month? He forfeited results 11 months further back than he 'needed' to, including a valuable medal and returned all awards and related payments as well. I think what happened is he said 'this is what I have been using since this point in time (about a year before his failed test)' so that he lost those results, and that likely figured in to what was decided. And, just because they have not told you what the particulars are does not mean that there are not particulars, some of which they want to probably keep hidden, including uncertainty about all that he actually knew, which will probably curtail additional PEDs activity.
By posting this, I do not mean that I do not understand your position and feel that the position may well be justified. I just do not know that it is and I strongly suspect that there are others involved that do know a lot more and that they can be trusted.
