From what I have heard from some athletes, Alberto does not recruit his athletes. The athlete typically asks him if they can join the NOP. If Salazar sees potential in the athlete, he runs it by the rest of the team to get a thumbs up or a thumbs down. And that's the way it is.

Yes. You are aware that even sub 13 5k runners can have a problem with endurance too, right? You can't even read my post that well. I was talking about him having problems AFTER highschool: He didn't run faster than 13:37 or 4:01 for 3-4 years.

Are you actually trying to say that Acosta shows up and competes too consistently for NOP? When is the last time AJ even raced?
I don't know why Rupp seems to have a reputation on LR for avoiding competition. Rupp shows up and competes more consistently than just about any other American distance or mid-d runner. What other American has completed more Diamond League, National Championship, World Championship, and Olympic races than Rupp over the past several years?

1st - just because he talks about training and developing kicks, doesn't mean that that is actually what is happening.

For Cain, there was no one to beat in that indoor championship. The outdoor championship wasn't much better, but it was a good performance. The world junior championship was a joke. The race was slow and handed to her. She would have won that race at the level of performance she had before she joined Salazar. The same for all of those records. She was already fast and improving before she joined Salazar. Furthermore, she ducked the real competition in the 1500 at the world junior championships by running the 3000m. I don't see how people just accept that like it didn't happen.

In fact, has Cain really improved since she joined Salazar? She ran her 3000/2-mile times right after joining him so you can't give him credit for that. But since then, what PR improvement has she really had?

Right place at the right time, but Salazar can't even keep his running consistent or him healthy. Centrowitz is as bad as Leo Manzano sometimes. How is that a plus to Salazar? He has like 1 good race per season.
Salazar doesn't develop kicks. His runners are just in better shape than Schumacher's. Kicks come from not running at your max for the entire race, not from developing them.
People bash young female fast runners saying they are peaking too early, Salazar takes a fast girl and turns her into the best HS girl ever by far. Most fast young females don't improve after their early success, so it's ignorant of you to suggest she was going to do this anyway.

He did coach Kara Goucher to world 10000m gold back in the day, and one of the athletes ahead of her was Turkish so Goucher basically won silver.

He did not take a fast girl and turn her into the best HS girl ever by far. She set her last big PRS before and right after joining Salazar. Nothing significant since. For you to suggest otherwise is what is ignorant. Her 2014 was a step back. Her performances this year have been sub par for her.

Really? Sub 13 5k runners have a problem with endurance? See, you are using the term "endurance" as arbitrary.... You are full of it... 13:37 and his Junior Record 10k score significantly higher on the IAAF score charts than a 4:01 mile... Indicating that indeed his endurance is far superior.
But please do explain this "problem with endurance" that your are talking about.
