How come no one is talking about the NAVY men?

A great win for them. I know the men's meet wasn't very strong but if people did care about regular season xc meets in the same way they do college football this would be THE UPSET OF THE WEEK.

navy came in ranked behing lehigh in the regional rankings. Navy won. Lehigh was 9th.

To put that in perspective, consider this. Navy scored 95 points AS A TEAM. Lehigh's 3rd man was 96th. I'm not trying to disrespect Lehigh just point out how big of an upset this was for Navy.

This makes me want to back the clock 20+ years to 1993 or 1994. I remember one year I was at Princeton. THere was a season opener at VCP with Navy and Princeton. Princeton should have won by a guy tied up bad in the last 400 and they lost by a point or two. Navy went on to get 6th in the country. Princeton 6th at Heps.

that was back in the day when teams would regular implode, overrace, etc. Nowadays thanks to the Internet, few do stuff like that but it's much more boring.

It was blowups like that by the Tigers that pushed Chris Lear into being a huge wetmore fan and me being a huge JK fan.

It's that time of year! this Saturday the big dogs are gonna roll on lehigh! It should be a mud fest from the forecast, what teams/individuals will show up big this year? college/high school? either way, can't wait to see some legit cross country action this Saturday!

After Navy put 4 guys in together at 24:30 (5th was 24:50) at their home meet, the Mid-Atlantic polls should have been adjusted accordingly. That course is no joke.

I hope the Columbia guys have seen what Dan Ireland did to the La Salle program. Seems he jumped ship at the right time. Does anyone think Columbia will be better in 4 years than they are now?

I was at Paul Short yesterday, and yes Navy looked very impressive. Yale is rising out of the depths of the Ivy League. Iona was 5th running their B team, also pretty good.

It is amazing to see Canadian teams, with no athletic scholarships, compete with some of the top programs in the US. Congrats to Guelph. Don't you guys want to see them compete at NCAA's.

big time. We're missing some serious athletes from the major universities in Canada. I haven't looked at their results for whatever but their rosters are surely compromised by people wanting to compete in the US.

Ok, i'll take you up on your questions as I love to challenge people with facts.

WHat did he do at Lasalle that was so bad? THey won xc titles in 2011 and 2013 on the men's side and 2011 on the women's side.

DO I think Columbia will be as good in 4 years as it has been the last few years? No, not likely. I think they had a run of unprecedented success that was unlikely to be matched regardless of who was coaching. Couldn't one argue that Wood realized this himself and jumped ship?

Now, will they be better than they are this year? They were surprisingly bad in Boston so that's possible.

Maybe he meant 1992 when Navy won Heps and was 6th (I think) at NCAA's.
