She has problems with the 800. Often starts slow, goes to the back of the pack and stays there. She can't do that with the 400.
Its good to see her running well at 400. The 800 is a whole different thing. I'm not convinced she has the mental strength to run it effectively. I believe she has the talent. It's the mental game she falls short at.
Well, the first time she broke 2 minutes, Maggie Vessey ran 1:57.84, so not unheard of to drop big chunks of time in the 800.
She tweeted a pic in her racing suit bf the race but it seems to be deleted. Anyone know why?
Something wrong with her jaw. She will be tweeting a new pic after some photoshoping is done to correct the jaw's issue.

With a 52.82, if she were in a mixed 800 race with guys she has the speed to break 1:54. Obviously in a female-only race that won't happen, but sub 1:57 is a real possibility int he right race.

More like a 47.8
This is all I got.
One good reference is another 400/800 type: Montano. Alysia has been very consistent in the 1:57's (four years in a row), and has run low 52's during this period. The fact that today's run was a PR for Maggie, a win, and she has run 1:57 at least once before, gives her good momentum, but is no guarantee of a new 800 PR, or certainly, the type of consistency it takes to make national teams. It will be interesting to see how the season plays out for her.

Yep! I was there to witness it. The only reason I wasn't such a fan was because I don't care for one pieces
She's a pretty girl but has a goofy fashion sense. Hopefully she gets back with NB and gets into those hot orange huggers they wear.

If I were Brenda, I'd definitely think it is easier for me to qualify in the 1500m. She is very strong, but could be beat by some much faster athletes like Vessey, a tactically smart Montano, Ajee, and more.
At 1500m, she can be the best American. Jenny will be her biggest competition.
