Help Me Choose a Marathon Flat

Good to know. You might find the Hitogami too narrow as well, then. I have narrow feet, so the opposite issue - the Pureconnects fit great, and the later versions of the Kinvara were too wide.

The Adios Boost and the Nike Lunaracer felt about the same, width-wise

I ran a marathon in the hyperspeeds. The New ones are lighter than the old ones. All the previous models were essentially the same. You can always find the older models on sale somewhere.

The flat failed you last year, legs beat up,tired , sore ...? 4 hours marathon. Very , very few people , can run efficiently for 26 miles in 6-7 oz shoes. Even the most elite of elite would never run in flats for 3:30- - 4:00 hours.

Nike is ant-Adidas but not Mizuno and Asics?

I've used the A4 and A5 for several marathons and liked them a lot. Surprising amount of cushioning for such a light shoe, and very simple as well.

I tried the Asics Hyperspeeds, but I absolutely hated them. To me, they felt clunky and didn't give me a smooth transition.

Saucony Fastwitch are decent if you want a little bit of support with a firm feel.

The Mizuno Ronins felt too slow and the Saucony Kinvaras were too soft.

My current marathon flat is the Newton Distance Elite, which is my favorite shoe on the list.

Sorry, I misread your question. I thought you were looking for a marathon without hills. You want a marathon flat, not a flat marathon.

I'm from Mexico, and we put the adjective after the noun.

You can't get through 13 miles in flats , you'll be walking by mile 15.

A5 is another option. I've done 3 marathons in that shoe. But for me I found switching to something a little heavier helped me feel better throughout. You won't be able to find them for much longer. The A6 is already out and it is a completely new model.

I am going with the fastwitch 6 now.

You should also look into the Skechers GoMeb Speeds- really really like these. They have a performance fit, relative to their other GoRun shoes, but they are still roomier in the toebox (compared to other brands) and not curved. They kind of remind me the Nike Streak XC in terms of fit, but a roomier toebox and slightly more cushioning in the midsole. Highly under-rated, IMHO.

3:30 is not elite for either male or female. Flats are okay for marathons if you've put in the training. My suggestions are the Nike Flyknit racer or Lunarfly 4 which is a bit beefier.

I had to return the adidas Boost. Too high of a heel, very narrow toebox and the outsole traction is terrible on wet pavement. I did like the bouncy feel, though. The boost 2 has the same outsole material so I'll pass on it, too. Other adidas shoes have the Continental outsole which is very awesome.

Adidas adios boost has been fantastic for me...not the lightest racer but they have great cushioning and responsiveness over a long run

This is my shoe (I love it) and my experience is that if Mizunos fit you perfectly, almost nothing else does.

Nike Zoom Steak 5 - I love the Zoom Streak LT2 and am hoping this is just a beefed up version of it.
