hell yeah thats fast, especially for cross country. Figuire that you can keep that pace for a 10k on the track in outdoors and your'e going to the NCAA D1 Champs.
Who wouldn't say going to the D1 Champs for 10k isn't good?

Yeah.

That wouldn't even make D3 champs. But that doesn't mean it isn't fast.
For a track 10k I once came through the 8k mark in 23:57 and then finished well but in 4 years of running mostly 8k for cross races, my best was 25:01.
So you really can't compare cross times to track, cross courses to other cross courses, or even the same cross course from one year to the next
To put it politely running sub 25 is f*cking awesome.
I have broken 25 several times.
Oh sh*t, I thought you said 3k.....
Waddle On !!
You know Paula, I'm glad you're such a fast runner. As a matter of fact, if you were my wife, I'd have you running all the time. Paula, run and get me another beer, Paula run into the kitchen and make me some dinner, Paula run over to the laundry room and do my laundry, Paula run over to the sink and wash the dishes.
I'd put your talent to good use honey, don't worry.
I'll be too busy traveling and competing to do any of the household choirs. You would have to fend for yourself. Kind of like you have to give yourself a "hand" at night.

People may think I am on drugs because I run so fast. But I know that I am clean. Yes, the Olympics were hard for me to take. However it has only made me more determined than ever to do well. Also I am sure that could destroy you, Mr. Thought Police. You are probably jealous that woman is faster than you.
This is the best impersonation I have ever read. I mean, it's like I'm reading worse from the real Paula Radcliffe!!
I have no idea why people bother to do this kind of thing.
On 25:00 not being fast...
Look at last years XC Champs in D1, D2, and D3. D3 winning time is usually right at 25:00. To make D2 top 10 is a little over 31:00 for 10k, equal to about a 25:00 8k. Low 31s in D1 would make you top 150 or thereabouts. Now look at the team results for last years D1 Champs. Aside from Stanford the top 10 teams all have someone running low 31 in their top 5 or top 7. So yes...25:00 XC 8k is very good.
its all about the course, you run sub 25 on the track as a split in a 10k and its nothing, you run sub 25 at van cort and you raise an eyebrow you run sub 25 on some of the truely hardy courses out their and your a f...ing animal.
Is UW-Parkside's course in Kenosha considered tough? There was some guy that broke 25 there last weekend.
orgin poster most likely talking bout cross........
that said.,,,,,,,,,,24.xx is great
in cross i consider it real good, if you ran that on a road its not so impressive. on a track thats nothin.

one vote for yes
Also need to consider how high the grass is on the course(if any). Tall grass on damp soil sucks every little bit of energy out of you. You show me a guy who can run sub 25 on tall(er) grass, he has accomplished something.

Anything under 25:30 at Parkside is very good. If you are around 25 minutes or less, you're doing well for yourself. Timewise, I would say the course is comparable to the Roy Griak Course.
Any workouts that indicate 25:00 capability?
What about the NAIA? They get guys in the 24s all the time at Nationals.
25 min for 8k and 31:15 for 10k are worlds apart. Just as 25 min for 8k on the roads or track is much easier than in XC. And 150+ at D1 cross means you are nearly last (yet would be top 10 in D2 and probably win in D3).
