It doesn't matter if she wrote it. It was sent in her name and presumably with her knowledge and permission. If she later denies that she ever made that statement then I will think otherwise.
How much is the swamp property going for in FL these days? They have so much I would think it would be cheap. At least cheaper than the ocean front property in AZ.

The pressure on the USATF from social media (including LRC) to do the right thing with the GG DQ meant that GG went to Sopot instead of Hasay. Those are tangible results.
On the bigger issues, the USATF ignores elite athletes at its peril if it doesn't want to go the way of the AAU.
It's not just Letsrun or even mainly Letsrun in this case...a complaint of inaction by USATF appeared at the TFAA website, and the statement by USATF is mainly in response to that.
Apparently the entire staff was assembled in Indianapolis yesterday putting that "Hightower" statement together.

GG went to Sopot because her high-powered agent Paul Doyle reps some of the biggest names in the sport, most notably Ashton Eaton, who features prominently in Nike TV advertising.
Bumbi is being ignored because his agent Tom Ratcliffe reps only distance runners, none of whom have ever appeared [to my knowledge] in anyone's TV ads.

There has been public discussion the last several weeks about a range of topics in our sport, centered around field-of-play decisions made at the USA Indoor Championships. As we have stated, USATF is taking a look at the events of Albuquerque as well as our related systems and processes. Public suggestions to the contrary, the topics related to Albuquerque are not quick fixes. These are topics that involve important elements of our structure that have ramifications far beyond race results at a single meet.
Since Albuquerque, CEO Max Siegel and I have engaged in a discussion of how best to address these issues in a deliberate, thorough and thoughtful manner. As USATF President and Chair with oversight of governance, I have asked USATF Board Member and IAAF Senior Vice President Bob Hersh, one of international track & field’s foremost experts on competition rules and governance, to lead a USATF working group that will look into these matters. We will announce other members of this group in coming weeks. Athletes will be a very important part of this process, as well as others in our organization. As far a Bum that looked like a human error problem with athletes all wearing the same uniform. If you want to blame Nike for something blame them for all wearing the same uniform but human error happens.

Good lord, that statement is atrocious. It is full of the meaningless drivel, passive phrasing and unclear meaning. Did they even have a professional editor look at that? If that's the best the CEO, President and Public Relations of a company can do after several weeks of getting roasted...let's just say that I wouldn't buy stock in USATF it were publicly traded after reading that.
The only clear part about that statement is that the people at the top have no idea what the problem is. They are looking in the rulebook (which sounded crystal clear from what has been posted here previously) and don't know that they need to look in a mirror to find the cause of the latest fiasco. All of you who truly care enough about USATF ought to start the process of having USOC take over until suitable leadership can be found.
Yep - it happens. And can be corrected after the fact too.As many others do, their lack of owning up to this mistake for weeks now frustrates me even more than the issues with the W3k call/protest because this is the easy one to fix and yet nothing has been done.

Why should it take months to analyze the long term implications in order to correct the CLEAR and OBVIOUS Bumby DQ mistake, and switch it to Hill?

This. They need some serious PR help. That is not the kind of statement that is going to satisfy anyone. Your average MBA student could do a better job.
This isn't unreasonable; what is unreasonable is that they didn't state this within a couple of days of the meet. When you leave a vacuum of your own making in the public sphere others will fill it in for better or worse. The USATF always seems to struggle with public relations.

WTF are you talking about?
Here is the deal folks.
USATF is not allowed to change results. The by-laws state that can only be done by the competition committee.
USATF ignored its by-laws in the GG case because of outside pressures. THAT WAS ILLEGAL.
Now they need their illegal actions to blow over.
They do no have the authority to reinstate Bumbi. That would involve another illegal action.
