I agree, but the real problem was weakness in the face of adversity even though the rules were on their side. The people who buckled at that protest table are at the root of the problem. If they had been strong and held their line, Sunday morning would have been a different story-a few pissed in the NOP camp, but a fresh day for everybody else. They(officials) had RIGHT on their side. They didn't NEED anything else. Salazar could've gone absolutely batshite crazy in front of them, screamed every word in the book, threatened them, everything, and it wouldn't have mattered. They had the rules and a process on their side. Instead, they messed up the process and in the process caused a firestorm. Just another lesson in life to just do things right the first time and you will rarely ever have to revisit the issue.

Alberto has lost a lot of my respect. Neither of the dqs he was behind affected either of the races finishing places.

Ok, now let's look at this with a dose of reality injected.

1. Called out by Craig Virgin regarding use of TUEs - True, but do you really think AlSal cares about what CV says about him ? AlSal is pretty narcissistic and doesn't care what others says about him.

2. Brags about Rupp's mile world record attempt - I wouldn't it call it bragging, just as with the other 2 AR record attempts he was promoting the meets. And I seem to recall it was AR record attempt - not a WR attempt.

3. Rupp fails miserably in mile race - drops out with a supposed cuboid bone dislocation - I wouldn't call that failing miserably, I would call that prudent injury prevention.

4. Nick Willis calls out Rupp - BFD. A world class miler class out a 5/10K guy for dropping out of a race to prevent possible further injury.

5. Eammon Coglan calls out Rupp/Salazar - He called out Salazars training method of hard workouts after races. Controversial ? Yes. Is it working ? It appears so.

6. Rupp loses 3000m at nationals - and still makes Worlds team

7. Salazar gets an athlete from the 3000m disqualified - true and deplorable

8. Salazar has to be physically restrained from attacking a coach - true and deplorable

9. Hasey fails to make US national team in 3000m - but Rowbury does

10. Salazar uses influence to bend USATF rules to get winner of 3000m disqualified - true, but I lay that blame squarely on USATF. Of course his overzealousness on the third petition was over the top, but USATF let it happen. 11. Salazar verbally berates Lomong in front of children - unacceptable

12. Salazar has verbal altercation with a coach in the elevator - False, it wasn't a coach it was GG's husband.

Now. let's look at some other things that happened in this same timeframe:

- 2 World Junior Indoor records for Mary Cain

- 2 American indoor records for Galen Rupp

- Jordan Hasay runs mile PR and is performing way better than most expected since leaving college

- Cain and Moser take the two spots on the 1500m World team

- Rupp makes the 3000m World's team

- Rowbury makes the 3000m Worlds team

- NOP takes 4 of the 8 World team spots in the distance races.

Alberto is an egomaniacal narcissist who will do anything to win. And even Alberto would probably agree with that statement. With that said, I think Alberto will do just fine.

That's what's supposed to make track & field different. It's not a coaches' sport. It's an athletes' sport A coach can't call 15 time-outs in the last minute of play, and manipulate every aspect of the game.

The M 3000m DQ was pure spite against Jerry's team. But the women's 3000m DQ would have affected the women's race. How does DQing the winner not affect the finishing places ? And Hasay would've made the worlds team. So the women's race DQ was kind of a big deal. Actually the men's race is too - its about the overall USATF process, not just these races.

I just love that phrase, 'anonymous poster', as if that somehow discredits the poster.

Many people have lost/are losing respect for Salazar & co. If this were not a concern to them then they would not be having their shills filling up the message boards in counter-attack mode.

I tend to think there are many things to consider

1. when is anyone going to question Mary Cain and her fast rise from national class to world class under Al

2 when is anyone going to just say Rupp is on PEDs

3. when is this become a liability for Nike

4. remember Rupp will not have the Farah rabbit train at world indoor he inst tough enough and can do anything crazy like hes been doing . The guy who ran those repeat miles after 1301 couldn't lose to Lagat even with a deficit

5 when does Mary Cain quit because everyone knows shes with a druggist

I'm not trying to take any sides, but is it a fact that monetary influence was used to get GG disqualified? Or could Alberto have just been arguing with the officials that whole time? That's the difference between being sleazy and just being annoying/persistent.

I know something sketchy occurred with the whole appeals process, but why are we so sure we know Salazar was being sleazy? Did anyone see money exchanged? Did anyone hear threats of withdrawing future Nike/NOP support?

Many of you seem to have such high standards for evidence when it comes to whether GG made an illegal pass or not, but your standard for evidence about whether Salazar acted unjustly seems to be much lower.

I think the 'threat' was implied. when nike pays for an estimated 40% of USATF's budget, and Al Sal is their top man and he is yelling at you over and over, with Nike corporate goons present...ideally the USATF volunteer stands up to that, but in this case it looks like they did not.

I've posted before that I think everyone is suspect at the elite level in any sport; however, I also try to give athletes the benefit of the doubt until there is a smoking gun or a "what the f*ck moment." Nothing would surprise me at this point, but other than past rumors about Salazar himself using I don't see any indication from his group other than fast times. If we are suspect of Rupp being on PEDs, shouldn't be also be suspect of Schumacher's group?

Rupp ran 4:01 for the mile, 8:03 for 3k, and 13:37 all in HS. Solinsky was a Foot Locker champion and ran very fast for 3200m in HS. Rupp wins silver and breaks the AR, therefore he must be on drugs despite times indicating he ranks as one of the best HS runners of all-time. Solinsky becomes the first non-African to run sub 27 and no one seems to be suspect, simply because Solinsky is more-likeable and "blue-collar." Rupp still hasn't matched Solinsky's 5k best, yet we're certain NOP is doped and Schumacher's guys are just training hard.

I'm not pointing fingers. I respect the athletes from both groups and hope they are all clean, but there seems to be double-standard based more on who we like and who we dislike. Despite any tangible evidence Rupp has been tried and convicted by the Letsun message board.

After Rupp's DNF a couple of weeks ago, someone (anonymous, of course) posted that Schumacher's group has also been on thyroid meds, but no one seems to care. We're too busy stringing Rupp up.

I understand there is considerable risk in speaking the truth, but it would be nice if someone (Magness, Yoder Begley, Goucher(s), Webb) spoke out about what goes on and what doesn't go on within the Salazar camp.

Look, did 'Too quick' really expect that Al Sal would walk up and stuff a wad of $100 bills in the official's hand in front of folks? Is this what you are asking for as evidence? Seriously?

Al Sal appealed. The first appeal was fine. Nobody has a problem with that.

He lost the appeal and that should have been the end of it. The mere fact that he appealed again...and again is, in and of itself, full and undisputed evidence of him acting above the rules.

This makes sense. If the most powerful man in your sport is yelling at you, it's intimidation by power. I agree.

But it is not sleazy unless it's with the intent of using that power. Does Salazar not have the same rights to argue his brains out just because of his position with Nike? I would never fault a coach for arguing on behalf of his athlete, and I wouldn't discriminate based on how much money the shoe company backing him gives USATF. Until I hear something that leads me to believe he was truly "threatening" rather than just arguing, I have to give him the benefit of the doubt.

9. Athletes competing in the women's national indoor 1500m stage protest gesture against Salazar.

The judge's are victims too. They are just volunteers. They tried to make the right call, but Salazar pressured them into changing the call. They are not the supreme court justices, merely track fans helping in an official capacity during their free time.

The trade of between achieving a few insignificant indoor records and national placings was not worth the humiliation Salazar brought himself, his athletes, his employer, and his family.

If your own children have to take to the internet to defend your miserable ass, you have servery gone over the edge.
