This type of stuff is impossible to say. Raczko had a program that worked really well from Webb. Changing it significantly and you might be getting rid of the peaks as well as the valleys.People talk about AlSal as some type of super coach but if you look through is athletes prior to Rupp and Mo, it is really hit and miss. It isn't like everyone who went to him in the various incarnations of the oregon project set all sorts of PRs. Even a guy like Ritz is really hit and miss. Sure he has some fast races. He is also still spending most of his career injured.

I do not think Alan Webb would have broken the high school record in the mile, would have broken the American record in the mile a few years later than he did, and he would (assuming he mentally kept it together and stayed with Al Sal) still be running at a very high level today.
