You mean you don't believe some 27 year old Kenyan farmer who never competed could train a couple years and jump in the Chicago Marathon and run 2:03?

Someone put up money to fly him from Kenya to Chicago. Obviously that was because someone saw that he had the potential to do well and make a lot of money. So why would someone not have decided that it was worth putting up money for an "old" Kenyan to get PEDS? He may well be clean but he hasn't "shown" anything.

Don't you see the contradiction? Where else on earth are you going to find a 20-something adult who appears nowhere on national or international running and give them enough PEDs (in a relatively short period of time)and have them run one of the top fastest marathon times in human history in 2 or 3 attempts? Even in Kenyan terms (or Ethiopian) Kimetto's success is rarely to replicate. Also, if there was an equal chance that any human being was capable of these times, don't you think that the "wealthy investors" would now and then place their money on people of other nationalities? I guess you didn't think that one through. Don't you think there are people in Southern Sudan who want to make dough? What about Niger? How much PED testing is going one there? Gabon? What about Kenya? There are 40-42 ethnic groups but the "wealthy sponsor" somehow always finds themselves with the Kalenjin rather than the poorer (= more drive according to some here) Samburu or Turkana.

Has everyone forgetten that he's a world record holder at 25K which he ran in the spring 2012? If he were really running only for two years it would mean he reached a world record shape after six months of training which is absurd even if he were the most talented doping runner.

I think we should take everything Kenyan people say that has to do with time or age with a big grain of salt. I don't really think they have a clue what they did 3 years ago or how old they are. They don't really care.

Just read this from Kimetto's wiki-page:

"At the RAK Half Marathon he defeated a field including Wilson Kipsang Kiprotich to win the race in 60:40 minutes.[3] His age was misreported as ten years younger and his following run of 59:14 minutes to win the Berlin Half Marathon in April was briefly considered a world junior best.[5] An erroneous passport was the cause of both the age difference and the Koech misnomer, his surname actually being Kimetto. This was rectified in later competitions."

So he got a passport that said he's 10 years younger than he is, had the wrong name printed, and didn't reflect on it!? Or maybe he reflected, but didn't think it was worth it to do something about it. That is the mindset of these guys.

Darn Africans they may be better runners. But we have the best coaches, tracks, shoes. Drugs. No no I mean doctors, scientists and we have more money. We rule.

Kimetto had already run 28m. in Nairobi in 2011, he has been part of G.Mutai training group for some time and many felt he let Mutai beat him last year to allow Mutai to pick up mega $ in bonuses. He had already established himself as one of the top half dozen in the world prior to Chicago.

Please stop insinuating that Hall, Rupp, Uceny, Symmonds, Hill, etc. are doped. You have no evidence.

I've got to agree with the OP here. Based on the insanely deep "road" races they have in Kenya, and the crazy talented Kenyans I've run with, it's a lot easier for me to believe that they have outliers that are 3 minutes faster than Ryan Hall than it is for me to believe that they would identify someone like Kimetto to bring into some inner doping circle this late in his life and this quickly in his running career.

"Show" and "prove" are different concepts. If you ever did any kind of research, professionally or in school, you would know this.

I don't think some athlete has to prove he's not doped.

I think who speaks about doping, having doubts about the integrity of the athletes, has to prove they are doped.

And who not only speaks about doubts, but appears to be totally certain about the doping of an athlete, needs not only to prove it, but also to be personally responsible about what he says, because in the law of every civilized Country this behavior has a name : LIBEL.

This has to be a MUST for a democratic and civil Country.

May be the posters of Letsrun are not democratic neither civil persons.
