It's looking now like a 2:11 at the trials would make a team, so that might not be much of a race for Rupp.
"It's looking now like..."??? We have 2.5 years yet. It is not looking like a 2:11 will make the team. You don't even know what course it will be on for f***s sake.
jfc, just making conversation. calm down.
But my thinking is that Ritz is, well, a 2:08-2:10 guy
Hall is probably around that post injury
third...Meb again? I think 2:11 would be a fine day for Meb in 2016
Who else is there? Arciniega? he would have to improve. Maybe I'm forgetting someone - but it would be rare to have a guy make a team who 2.5 yrs away from teh trials you ne'er heard of.
who are you thinking will run 2:10 in 2016? Derrick? Maybe. 2:10 is a seriously fast marathon time- few americans have done that.
Ritz by the numbers is a 2:08 - 2:10 guy. Running in a race with no rabitt and now speed freaks out ahead of him goes 2:09:3x at best.
Hall. Well I see a 2:09:45 type time at NYC. I think he is close to done. Physically he can still run fast, but I don't think he wants it. It is almost like he is quite ok settling for being the best US guy and even that is questionable. I can see a team in 2016 without Hall.
Meb has desire, but can he really hold out for 2016?
Teg. Getting up there in years, but with the debut you would think that would be his focus if he plans on another Olympic team.
The rest. Hopefully some of the younger guys start going to the marathon early. Think it will be a pretty open with no real shoo ins.
