Is that some kind of joke? Bekele had no WC to prepare for, and he would have been able to focus exclusively on the HM. Whether or not he did peak for this (I'd tend to think he did), KB had ample opportunity to do so.
Farah, on the other hand, went through a full season nearly unbeatable on the track, running one of the fastest 1500m races ever and taking two more global titles. He performed at an elite level throughout the entire season before peaking perfectly and earning two more global titles.
While it doesn't absolve him of the loss, do you really think Farah could have been in peak shape for every race from 1500m through 21.1k, all in the space of about 6(?) weeks, including a global championship?
