IAAF.org has just reported on their twitter that Athletics Canada has appealed the Genest ruling.

"Genest's Steeplechase DQ is being officially protested by the Canadian federation. #Moscow2013"

Jager looks like he's at the top of his game. I hate to anger the cabal of Letsrunners who don't believe you can judge fitness by observing strain, but Jager looked *effortless*!

He did. He and MEKHISSI-BENABBAD (thank you copy/paste) looked the most comfortable.

Huling and Derrick looked vey flat and unfit. If you're only going to race a couple times all year, you should be ready at Worlds. Huling especially has run 8:13 and it only needed low 8:20's to advance. Team Schumacher only cares about USA Championships.

Huling has had a long history of choking in races dating all the way back to college. Dropping out of races, etc. Certainly the guy races well at times, but he has too many times gone in the tank when it counted most.

Anybody make much of the difference in winning times in the heats? First heat 7-8 seconds faster . ..

Benjamin Kiplagat of UGA took it out in 2:44 and 5:30 in the first heat, then faded but still got the q. Looks as though he did not want to risk not advancing, and put the pressure on other heats to step it up if they wanted any in-on-time qualifiers.

Did think he was missing training partners the last couple years, but can't really use that excuse inside his current group. Is he made to serve as Jager's rabbit more than training partner. Jager credits Dobert with his hurdling technique. Will he not also help Huling., because he hurdles awful.

There were 4 people DQed under rule 163.3, which is stepping on the inside of the track. What gives?? Apparently there was a fifth from Canada but he was reinstated.

Dan is a graduate of my high school and a friend. It really sucks to see him choke, but he always makes us proud back here at home. I was in Des Moines when he qualified and it was very exciting to see how fit he looked. Him and Derrick just didn't look the same in Moscow.
