Also, Hasay only beat Reid in the 3k indoors. Reid beat Hasay in the DMR. There was no "twice".

Remember what medal Dibaba got last year and what the time was. A championship race with heats make it different, and I see this as suddenly a winnable race for Shannon.
That $2500 is first of all reduced to $2125 after the agent 15% is removed plus there are costs taken out for other things like hotel and food as well as cost of coaches' hotel and pay and agent hotel and pay so after all that removed its about $1500 and then US and Oregon taxes still must be taken out so really Jordan is taking home about $1000. Not bad but reality of the deal. And this is one of the top 5 paying meets on the circuit.

The difference is that Dibaba is a better 1500m runner than Rowbury. Bekele was not a better 1500m runner than El G.
Considering that Reid ran 4:02 earlier this year, one would expect her to beat Hasay at 3000. However, that doesn't diminish the worth of Hasay's race, someone who is a full two years younger than Reid (at a point where it still matters), someone who has had three college seasons plus a post-collegiate season and is delivering better than ever, and someone who all season has been training for the 10

Hasay's age is irrelevant. She's probably been running longer than most of the people she's competing against. Age is a complete non factor.
And yet she still got beat by Sheila Reid. Looks like Jordan can't escape that. Okay I'm done. Hasay ran a good race especially since she's a 10k runner now. Reid ran okay.....and you'd fully expect her to beat Hasay since she's more of a 1500/3000 meter runner. But I guess it still must suck to see the girl you lost twice two in XC beat you once again.
Hasay puts *sses in the seats and gets people interested in Track! Hasay is 15 seconds ahead of Reid in the 3000 when Reid was Hasay's age. Quite frankly I had already forgotten about Sheila Reid since she has gotten done exploiting our collegiate system, when she could have just run in Canada! (bwahahahahahah)
every year since I can remember Jordan (around 8 plus years) she has been compared to someone (a runner who people who think is better) who is a main rival, yet if you look back most are aren't around any more, Reid is nice and good runner, I just hope for Reids sake she will be the one who is still around in a couple of years.......Jordan just keeps on grinding it out and yet the complainers just keep on complaining...so who's next?
Hasay's contract is 5 time$ larger than Reid's.

Hasay ran well today. To be honest, if she unleashed some crazy kick I would have immediately thought drugs. She ran towards the front of the pack and was beaten handily in a kick. Everything is prep for Moscow, which is really prep for Rio. Jordan will finish 10th-12th at Worlds.
Rowburry looked really comfortable and smooth over the final 200m. With her speed, she could certainly develop into a strong 5000m runner. But again, in Moscow, she will not enjoy the 400m-600m beatdown that Dibaba, et al throw down.
Impressively strong performance in a moderately strong field, but her kick is what it is. Moving to 10k was the right choice.
Great run for Hasey! I didn't think she was ever going to run a time like this. I figured she's struggle as a pro running in the 15:30's or whatever. Seems like she is doing great under Alberto!

I agree with this. She's been running and training hard since the age of 12. When people say Hasay has so much room for improvement, I scratch my head in wonder. Hopefully she is taking care of her body and not spiraling down the malnourished path.
