Those that think improved testing levels the playing field are not thinking it through. With improved testing, only those with the best means and most money have access to beating the tests. The poster mentioning thyroid conditions and such has it figured out. At one time everyone had access. Now, only those with the most money and best medical/science access. I am not referring to personal wealth, but sponsorship and having governing bodies in their deep pockets.

The passports are having their effect - all to the good. I hope that the drug testers continue to up their game and find more and more effective ways to eliminate the dopers.
The dopers won't leave any other way. They have hurt the sport tremendously to this point and if they are driven out of the sport they would just as soon see it die out completely.

Increased testing now only weeds out those that do not compete for the big money company(s) while the average user is busted. Testing has actually made things more uneven on the world scene. It is now a 'have' or 'have not' when in the 90's it was most. I can't mention the specific coach, club, or company or the post gets deleted immediately. You see, this inequity trickles all the way down to a running message board.

That would pretty much take care of doping.
That's a bit harsh; going after the athlete's family. It would be fairer to go after the athlete's coach and agents instead plus fine their national federation 1 billion dollars for every positive test.
