defar wins 30:08.....woooow..
Second one in31:09 or so.... Dibaba is safe:-)
2 very good 10ks. would 30:0x be better than 26:50? i think so. and for defar to run alone is also worth 10 seconds at least (mental and physical). for me running alone would cost me 30 sec in a 10k.
glad to see some real WLs
I'm trying to consolidate threads:
Here are results:
Sollentuna 10,000 Results
1 Meseret Defar 83 Ethiopian 30:08.06 WL AR
2 Afera Godfay Berha 91 Ethiopian 31:08.23 PB
3 Gotytom Gebreslase 95 Ethiopian 31:51.42 PB
4 Aheza Kiros 85 Ethiopien 32:32.23
5 Aynensh Niguse 92 Ethiopian 33:40.59
Viktorya Pohoryelska 90 Ukraine DNF
They just did the 5k in 13:23 and looking really good
LetsRun.com note: After the races were over, we changed the thread title as we are trying to consolidate threads and get people to post here so - the initial thread - so we can get rid of the 5 threads on the same subject.
Berha must have had a heck of a finish, since Defar was 50m ahead of her.
Ventolin is responsible for more sub 26:40 performances than anyone alive. Ventolin hands them out like candy. Roght now about a dozen runners are Ventolin-certified as sub 26:40 capable. In this race, they go out in 13:23, finish in 13:28 and Ventolin concludes that they could have closed in 13:12 and just gives them 6 seconds. How about this? Ethiopian officials are known to select on time is is possible that they went about as fast as they could and made sure they lost Merga?

( even 2nd place in a big sub-27 may not be picked for wc )
solo from 3k out probably worth 5s from lack of drafting to 5k in "classical" 10k tts
so we are talking a 26'46 calibre performance with paramount factor being not to lose once knowing final clocking woud be below-27 ( known from gun with this calibre )
you can bet your house the winner is in sub-sub-26'40 shape ( throw in a sub extra & subways is finished )

The ventolin couch is the knowledge center of the T&F world.
He has never watched a T&F meet in place, neither has he ever spoken to a T&F athlete or coach. He doesn´t have to - he has his magical couch!
At least, we can confirm Dejen is a legit contender in both the 5000 and the 10000. It wasn't even a month ago when something appeared wrong with him
