I was at the Stanford meet and it was impressive.

But time to move on...

Anyone know where to get tickets, or if you need them?

Some of the contention is based on logic. In one race someone runs away from everyone and wins: Bekele. In another race someone runs away from everyone and wins: Solinsky. In both races the same runner is dropped, by 5 and 11 seconds, respectively: Rupp.

I'm not taking anything away from Rupp's PR. He ran 26:48 for third at a DL meet of studs. It was awesome to see! But his performance does not hold a candle to the brilliance of Solinsky's timeless debut @26:59, where he crushed from 900 meters out.

Ben has two A standards and will run in NYC for cash a week later. Oxy's for chumps. There's no prize money.

I'm heading out there, I think I read the entrance fee is 8 bucks but I'm not 100% positive.

russell brown was originally on satudays shanghai diamond league enty list, but is not anymore, he is in fridays oxy meet.

my guess is russell brown and ben true would get the same amount of appearance fee for a diamond league meet, and would win about the same amount of prize money. not much and probably none. i dont mean that in a bad way, but you have to be like bolt, rudisha etc. to get appearance money, and prize money is very hard when the fields are deep, like 3:31 for 1500 and sub 13 for 5000 does not even guarantee prize money.

also where is AJ wilson, i would think this would be a good meet for her.

Men's 1500 at Oxy: I would say first 3 heats are reasonably equal as far as competitiveness. But heat 4 is for chumps.

Thought they were all supposed to be equal?

Are there rabbits in each?

Boylan or Batty better be rabbit in heat 1

Manzano will run incredibly and win with a 3:32.33

just found out aj wilson is running in a meet in puerto rico on sunday.

So it looks like every American contender for the Worlds team will be there, with the notable exceptions of True and Bumbalough. True has the standards, but what is Bumbalough's deal? He doesn't have the 1500, 5000, or 10000 standard...when is he planning on getting it if not here?

Heat 1 is FAR stronger than any other: Manzano, Centro, Lomong, Rupp, Wheating, and maybe Farah if that's incorrect and he didn't scratch from 1500.

Heat 2 has some good 5000 guys, not none have pulled off a blistering 1500, or been competetive on the world stage like Manzano or Centro.

Bumbalough is probably tired from his 10k. Probably running a 5k at Pre or the meet True is running his 5k in.

i was just reading an interview with chris solinsky and have noticed a pattern with him in all interviews he does. he NEVER mentions Galen Rupp. he's been asked questions about who the best 10k runners in the usa are, or even asked about how his race against rupp will go etc. and he acts like rupp doesn't even exist. i've never heard him acknowledge ruppy. same goes for most of jerry's athletes. i wonder if the schumacher clan has been told that salazar's guys aren't to be thought about or if they believe they are cheating or something. they simply never talk about them.

am i crazy or is this a real phenomena?

You aren't crazy necessarily, just dumb or unobservant. Sol mentions Rupp all the time.

Heat two has a number of guys who have run 3:34:

Russell, Fernandez, Andrews and Torrence.

Plus Olympians Symmonds and Jager.

Now heat 1 has four guys who have run 3:32.

Plus Rupp and Leer to make it interesting.

The pacers are listed at the top of each field, along with their target times, etc. Nicely done. I also like how they only have 10 runners in heat 1 of the men's 1500. Less traffic and bumping to ensure a fast pace, etc.

This meet is going to be epic!

Yes, it's pretty clear that he isn't in flotrack's posted startlist.

In all likelihood this means he scratched from the race. It does not guarantee it though. Mistakes are made. Moreover, neither Farah or Rupp appeared on the startlists for the 5000 last year and yet both still appeared in the actual race.

Does it not seem conceivable that there is some chance that Farah not being there is a mistake, and he is still racing at 1500, especially given that in the Flotrack interview posted yesterday with AlSal he indicated that he felt both Farah and Rupp could better their [1500] PRs here with the right race.
