Unfortunately, I don't expect this race to be super fast, this race is primarily a mix of NCAA sub-14 types looking to PR and pros seeking the A standard. - Derrick is the odd ball, seems to me like he would sit this one out in favor of a faster race in a couple of weeks...perhaps he is rabbiting some teammates to the standard.

My guess is that Levins entered this meet before switching over to Salazar, and Salazar decided that he didn't want Levins to open his season this early

who they are really discouraging from racing are those who are directly looking for prize money. the Japanese runners are being paid by their sponsors to race and the NCAA Africans are either in it for collegiate reasons or are in it for the competition.
There is a reason why the OP don't run this meet either.
