These rankings are irrelevant to the academic quality of a school. These rankings are all about prestige and published papers and prizes. Nothing to do with actual competence and learning.
Ran out of juice. Inner circle experts all agree that her time progression was not natural. She just ran out of stuff Some people will do anything to win and when they can't, they quit. She was going to get caught or humiliated when she quit using.

Haha thanks for this post. It was very laughable. I enjoyed it. But you're clearly confusing her selfishness with YOUR OWN selfishness. What if you didn't enjoy something or perhaps wanted to do other things with your life, and someone told you, "NO. You have to keep doing this."? Wouldn't that just suck? But wait...that's what you want her to do? Wow, you're pretty selfish. Perhaps it would be selfish if she was taking something away from someone else, or hogging talent...but nope. That's simply not the case. It's HER talent, HER life, and HER decision. Nothing is selfish about it, you narrow-minded shmuck.

I currently run for A&M and have spoken with Tosha a few times over the past couple months. A few observations:
Those of you who say she is "juiced" and don't know one bit of the type of training or person she is just need to stop. She is relentless in her training and that is the reason she made the huge jump. She was good enough in 2010 NCAA XC to qualify for nationals individually.
For all people out there who understand the demands of NCAA athletics, especially track & field, it can be draining. At Texas A&M, out number one focus is being part of a team. Being said, we race any opportunity we have (more than the typical NCAA athlete). Traveling to meets all over the country every weekend, missing 2-3 days of school then trying to make it, never having the opportunity to hang out with your friends that are not on the travel team... If you don't truly love what your doing, the sacrifice of being an NCAA athlete is amplified tenfold. From my conversations with her, giving up a large amount of her time and energy for running wasn't worth what it meant losing, her friends, grades, and happiness.
She wanted to go home to visit her family after indoor nationals last year, but she was strongly persuaded that the track trip to Arizona for spring break was obligatory. She is from Colorado and can't just swing by to see her family on the weekends like many other athletes.
Overall, she is one of the most humble people I have ever met. Her success didn't change her one bit. She will be missed on the track by her teammates, although we still see her outside of track functions at parties and such. I have the ultimate respect for someone who can make the tough choice in life, even if it hurts. She did what she believes will make her happy, and isn't that what anyone else would do?

Most of all I wish the most of happiness for Natosha in whatever she chooses to do.
It is sad that the typical college and high school coaches put pressure on the young people they're supposed to be coaching. I see no reason to go out for track or cross country in such tenuous situations.
Good for Natosha for standing up for herself and being an outstanding role model for the rest of us. Whether or not she decides to continue running after college, I will be rooting for her.
So we have one story where she is hurt and sick, another where she is apparently healthy but can't deal with the travel demands of track. Which is it?
Why doesn't she transfer to Colorado.
Very few of Mark Wetmore's athletes get injured and Boulder is 45 minutes away from her hometown.
She still has all of this eligibility.

No not really. The answer is to ask around. Everyone knows who the top people are who can give some sound advise.
My rec' would be to graduate and use your eligibility --if there's any remaining-- at another school in grad program.
Forget the stuff about quitting, it's silly talk for someone so talented.
Communicate with a few people with experience in handling the individual runner rather than worrying about team points as a primary objective.
Winning is important but not at the expense of a legit talent concerned about peak performance --and other stuff-- rather than over-racing.
Natosha will find a major difference in this regard and she'll she that there can be answers to her concerns.

I agree. Sounds like the rest of her life is demanding and she needs a break from running, not a way to get healthy and racing again ASAP. Just bag this season and look for running opportunities after graduation.
Well sh**, if she was going to quit she should have gone to Stanford and then quit (like Chelsea Sveinson). At least she'd get a Stanford education.
Please. If she's on full scholarship and the school made their demands known then this is ridiculous on her part. Selfish, ridiculous, and short-sighted. Coach Henry should immediately yank the scholarship.
So, in sum....we don't know what Natosha is or is not up to. This has been very enlightening.
