I live in Edmonton (Canada) where we've had snow since early October and almost every time I run outside (I run every day and if it's colder than -4F I run on the treadmill) I have to wear a balaclava, not to mention 2 pairs of socks, a pair of thermal underwear and thick tights, a long thick shirt and jacket, a pair of gloves under a pair of mitts. It's insane; it takes me 15 minutes just to get dressed to run outside and when I'm done, I almost have a full load of laundry. Those of you who actually think you live in a "cold" climate should count your blessings, seriously.
Two pair of sucks while running? Why? Your feet easily stay warm while running unless your are running in cold water. The two pair of sucks may be limiting your blood flow which will make your feet colder than running with no socks would.
