Rank these animals in terms of fighting ability

I agree with this so I don't have anything to add except that the cobra is like the great white shark and doesn't fit because it can't get in a straight up fight with the other animals. Maybe it gets luck and gets a bite in or maybe it doesn't. If not it's toast.

Just be glad Weasels are so small. Watch one run down a rabbit 10 times its size on open ground.

The premise of your question is wrong. These animals are all hunters. None of them typically get into fights to the death. It's a bad survival strategy to risk everything on a coin flip, so it doesn't happen in nature, only in the UFC. You're supposed to figure that out when you're a little kid putting bugs in a jar, only to find they'd rather avoid each other than fight.

Tigers occasionally kill each other over territory, but they usually determine the stronger tiger after a couple seconds of wrestling, and then the weaker tiger is banished.

Pretty much all the animals on your list attack things that are smaller and weaker than them, and avoid fair fights. The exception is the saber tooth tiger, because there was never any such thing. There was a saber toothed cat called smilodon once, but it wasn't a tiger.

There is also no way any of those animals would ever run into each other. A hybrid polar/grizzly bear might meet a bull moose but wouldn't attack it. Tigers have been known to kill and eat brown bears.

A king cobra has deadly poison but it only poisons what it wants to eat, or in self-defense, and nothing attacks a king cobra except tv herpetologists.

A better example of fighting animals would be wolverines and honey badgers. Who would win between a wolverine and a honey badger? That would be a hell of a fight.

Just a correction. Squirrels have been known to tease and attack cobras. Cobras fear at least two animals: the honey badger and the squirrel.

I'm appalled at the lack of respect for the moose. I

1) It's tied with the polar bear as the largest land animal on the list.

2) It has antlers, which are basically a combination shield, battering ram and club. It can just lower its head and gouge repeating knowing that the polar bear can't get past it's antlers.

I think the tiger is athletic enough to circle around behind either the moose or the polar and jump on top. And the saber tooth is just a bigger tiger. So the correct list is:

1. Saber Tooth

2. Tiger

3. Moose

4. Polar Bear

5. King Cobra

6. Great White

Obviously the Great White is #1 in a water environment.

True, the moose is formidable. But think about the arena: a fight to the death. Antlers are really great for wounding other, and wikipedia says they're fully capable of defending themselves against black and grizzly bears. I think we should recast the conversation in terms of odds. if you put 10 equally sized polar bears against 10 equally sized tigers in successive fights, it wouldn't be a 10-0 bout. so I'd say this:

If the tiger got the surprise on the bear, I think it could tear its neck out. But if it didn't get the kill in the first few seconds, the polar bear could own. Walruses survive because bear attacks they have tons of blubber.

Saber Tooth is pretty similar to tiger I guess. King Cobra doesn't deserve to be on this list because most of these animals have really thick hides that the Cobra probably couldn't penetrate reliably. Cobras feed on like little things. The cobra would just slither away. The Great White is another silly comparison. In the ocean, it's undisputed; they weigh 5,000 pounds and can eat WHALES.

The saltwater crocodile FWIW has been known to eat bengal tigers (smaller than siberian), can weigh a ton, and are essentially covered in armor. But that's another unfair comparison because they're most effective in rivers.

Bigfoot would own all of them.

1. Great White, if it were to get in a fight it would be in the water and nothing on earth would beat it

2. Saber Tooth tiger, according to wiki , this thing was eating elephants, rhinos, and other enormous mammals and had incredible strength to take these animals down.

3. Tiger not quite as powerful as the Saber Tooth but still a huge 6-700lb killing machine.

4. Polar bear , come on guys, the bear goes into the water it would easily be eaten by the shark, on land either tiger would destroy it
