Can you confirm if there will be a bag drop?
Will this count toward Marathon Maniac status?

Good thing no one else in this city needs things like water, fruit, pizza, etc.
Will there be a full refund if the run is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances?

I am a local club coach and just cannot just sit back and watch my runners not have the chance to run a marathon this Sunday.
But you have no problem sitting back while people have no place to live, no power, and no food.
Have you not been paying attention lately?
Certified course? If I run a sub-2:03 I want to get credit!
Yes, baggage drop will be available.
0/10 Not the right time to be trolling.
I suggest you come up with a Plan C.
You're right. Let's all stop eating until every last person in NYC has a bagel in their mouth.
Alright, we are definitely on for tomorrow. So far we have a solid committed group. Let me know if you are still interested, feel free to come out and cheer as well.
All you need will be cake at the finish. There are many, many people devastated within relatively few miles from you, right now. Are you Manhattanites really going to hold your little running festival in the park? Jesus H Christ man.
What time? Where specifically in the park? I'm interested.
Send me an email for details
If you go through with this you're a true hero.
Is it a Boston Qualifier?
Give me a break! Instead of organizing this race, why not organize a volunteer effort to help out the people that were adversely affected by Sandy. There are truly more important things that can be. I believe somebody else mentioned this, but there are marathons just about every weekend in New York and the surrounding areas. Pretty bold statement about the 4 months of sacrifice, especially when you are talking about an area who just survived a natural disaster.

They trained so hard for 4 months, sacrificing so much to be able to line up for the race. I am not a political person and was only mildly impacted by the hurricane (lost power and water for 4 days). Personal opinions aside, I'm a runner and have been coaching people to run.
I decided to organize a marathon run on Sunday morning at Central Park and will provide water, Gatorade, gels, bars, fruit and bagels. I'm working on getting pizza for the finishers as well. This is a no BS run, that's what I love about running, just show up with your sneakers and some heart and you'll get your marathon. I just want to make it happen for those who are looking to get out there and show off their hard work. Also, so many travelled here from far away for nothing... Make it worth it and come out. I will need to know approximately how many are interested so I can get enough food for everyone. Contact me at
PlanBmarathon@gmail.comif you're interested.
Oh shut up. How about you organize a charity event? How about that tough person?
No, I think I'd like to go for a run...
