Please consider signing petition asking Louis Luchini to Remove Himself from Olympic consideration

What is interesting that we're debating the right of two men to chase a time standard that in reality neither may hit. Something seems rather curious about this whole affair.

Is this a joke? i certainly hope "rojo" isn't as presumptuous as to think he is anyone who has the right to ask a competitor in the Olympic Trials to give up their chance at their dreams? Please say it isn't so. Luchini should start his own petition asking for funds for that "pulling "rojo's" head out of ass" procedure suggested by an earlier poster. Get a life "rojo".

I would never, ever, in a million years have expected one distance runner to ask another to give up his olympic dreams like this. luchini earned a shot at this fair and square.

I agree with those that think this is totally inappropriate. Especially as a DI coach, Rojo has taken a position and promoted it on a web site as Anti- Luchini, who surely knows by now he is not a factor to be, or running well. Asmerom had his chance too, the race wasn't that fast , forget about "A" standard ,he had his shot at winning a 13:27 race and couldn't muster that. Riley should have taken care of this by winning, but so be it. Torres? Proportionately he is running at a lesser level or at least as poorly as Luchini. Why not the outcry for him as well?

Does Cornell race at Pre-Nationals? I can't imagine the Stanford crew will be too pleased to see them.

A sad, dark day in letsrun.com history. I can actually see Rojo's point and think it would be very admirable if Luchini did this of his own accord, but to suggest it the way Rojo did via an online petition shows absolutely zero class on his part.

I hope this is joke, if not its an action that I hardly ever thought would come from you. Bolota doesn't deserve any special attention-the guy had numerous chances to run the A standard in Europe and either finished last, close to last or DNF in his races. He couldn't even get the B standard so why take a chance on someone with neither standard over someone (Louis L.) who has at least the B standard?

letsrun's best day was when they backed Regina up against the wall at a press conference and not allow her patented bullshit answers to slip by unnoticed.

Today, letsrun is over-stepping its bounds. Pressuring someone via skewed logic to achieve a desired result is a form of bullying. Luchini doesn't have to answer to anyone.
