He should be somewhere around 50th place this year. Next year top 20, junior year top 10, senior year top 5.
There was a time when I hated NAU. NAU was the evil empire who had a hold of the Big Sky in croos country and year after year I would check the roster to see how many seniors they were losing hoping they would open the door for us or someone else in the Big Sky to take conference, but nope...year after flippin year someone new would come along and take the place of the departing seniors. You know how frustrating that is????
This year, after NAU lost basically their entire top 7 from last year, I thought...hmmm no way NAU wins conference. This is the year for Weber or even a Montana State. Fu*k it to hell, they have done it again!! Completely new team and they are poised to not only win conference, but return to nationals.
I commend you NAU, for having such a great program. I don't know how they do it, but they keep churning great runner after great runner. I now have admiration for that program. Hat off to the Lumberjacks.

Can you imagine what German Fernandez's career would have been like if he's would have gotten out of that craphole in time? Oregon, Colorado, NAU, or Stanford would have made him the most successful NCAA runner in the history of the sport.
