The fact that Rob fell just short of doing it shows how tough it is to keep it going.
The end of a strak defines the streak.
10 years of high level running is very difficult to do.
It would've been nice if they'd printed "Brannen" insrtead of "Brennan" on the poster.
And "instead" instead of "insrtead" in my post.
That was really close - it looks like he can certainly do it if he gets a couple chances at a real race.
I think he should try to do it in the next month, though it might be hard to find people to run with.
If the next month does not look like a good possibility, he should get down to business training, then look for some December indoor meets (or Australian outdoors), and also break 4 in January. That way he could take care of sub-4 for 2012 and 2013, and have plenty of time to regroup for outdoors.
It takes raw talent , and pure guts to do what Rob has done his entire career. He is not comparing himself to anyone but himself. He is only out to prove something to himself and no one else. Those who can do! Those who can't TALK SMACK AND YAWN !

Machinehead is a weird choice of song. I would have gone for something a little faster. Hope he gets the sub 4 by the end of the year.
I guess the 5th Avenue Mile wouldn't count so if he does it it will have to be another time trial type set up. Also going to be tougher and tougher to find rabbits as the year goes on.
Wyho coaches Myers nowadays?
He was with Gary at Ohio State and then switched to warhurst for a couple years. Did he coach himself this past year?
Will this be his last year?

I didn't know Wyho was still coaching. I knew him a number of years ago. A real good coach and a real fountain of knowledge on distance running. IMHO
