More Dominant: Bolt or Rudisha ?

Bolt gets more acclaim because the public want to see power/explosive athletes over distance. It's more exciting - strength over distance will be more attractive always. Just instinctive... doesn't matter who was more dominant. I agree Rudisha is more dominant in his event - but will never get the publicity over sprints/jumps/throws. Nature of man....

u r right dude. IN fact, my favorite part of every int'l track meet is when the 800m is moved to a separate track just to prove how more manly they are.

Bolt just repeated in the 100/200. He has 2 world records. When Bolt blew up in 2008, barely anyone knew Rudisha name because he was barely cracked 1:44.

Part of dominance to me is longevity. I respect David's times but until he wins WC or Olympic 4 years apart, he won't reach Bolt status.

I am just so thrilled as a fan to have seen the Geb era, the Kenny Bekele era, and now David Rudisha and Usain Bolt. It's all great. They are all amazing to watch and appreciate. I don't want to pick a best. I don't even want to have a vote for track and field man of the year (I don't, so it's no big deal.) And watching those in the wake of these great runners to see who can be next is riveting.

Quite - London is a fast track, but Bolt ran his 9.58 and 19.19 on the Berlin track which was not laid to especially assist the sprinters.

And as I understand it - the Atlanta track was specifically laid to assist Johnson to run his fast times.

The distance runners were complaining about the hardness, in fact, Gebrselassie was in pain from blisters after his 10,000.

I didn’t hear any similar complaints from the distance runners at London.
