JO's 2003. So hot the track was coming loose on the first turn. Literally bubbling off. And where Tim Galebach had his epic collapse (youtube that one sometime).
Omaha gets wicked hot.

If the meet has to be in the Midwest why not Drake or one of the thousand colleges in Minneapolis? Both are cool cities. Drake has one of the best facilities in the country.
My local Firecracker 10K had faster runners. Hopefully the USATF is dropping too much dough on this.
From the results, it seems that only 5-6 teams total are even at this event

All track and field meets should be held in the pacific northwest!
Some whiners on this board only want meets held indoors.
Typical Oregon bullshit.
At the time that the pole vault prelims were being canceled due to rain, the TV telecast described long jumpers competing in "horrible" conditions, Walter Dix was lost to team USA after injuring his hamstring in the cold in Eugene.....
It was in the 70's and 80's all week in Sacramento with ZERO rain. It was in the 70's all week at the Olympic Training Center in San Diego. It was in the 80's all week at Mt. Sac, which I think has held USATFs twice.
It was 75 degrees today at Mt. Sac.
Typical Coach doosh bullshit.
I guess if the cold weather was going to injure Walter dix, then it injured ALL THE OTHER SPRINTERS TOO, RI-I-I-IGIGIGIGIHIHIHITI?!?!?!?
Call the WHA-AmBULANCE you unhappy little whiner.
ALL OF THOSE PLACES THAT YOU MENTIONED...DRUM ROLL FOR LIGHT THINKERS....HAVE NO FLIPPING INTEREST IN HOSTING THE TRACK AND FIELD OLYMPIC SPORT.
No other community, location, and package of sponsors and support are interested.
Mt. Sac., is in the middle of nowhere and that meet empties out so much...all the sprints are over?
--ALL THE FREAKING SPINTERS FAMILIES GO HOME...walk out in the middle of the 1500's.
F Mt. Sac, you moron. Talk about bullshit.
When the going gets tough, the sprinters pull up lame.
IAAF WC and Olympic Games are where medals are won and not the pre-qualifying meets. Thus to the athletes, parents, and coaches it doesn't matter if there's no paid attendance at all. The idea of the trials/champs was made up by television to give TV crews who meet once a year, a paid practice gig. The next T&F champs/trials should be in Hawaii or Cancun ;-)
Is this result correct? Who is Lalonde Gordon? That's a very fast time to be in a Club Champs meet:

Yeah that meet looks pretty much dead and needs to be revamped or revitalized. USATF club cross country gets 40+ men's and 30+ women's, and a big group of masters and seniors teams, but club track nationals doesn't seem to field full teams. It appears there are only 4-5 clubs in the country which are geared with the necessary budget as well as the sheer numbers of athletes to compete in this meet.
I would move it back to middle or late-May or early June at the latest, myself. That would improve conditions in most locales and would be better timed for track seasons. I know several of the Bay Area clubs were not that interested in the San Francisco meet in 2010 because it fell about six weeks after the end of their typical track season.

Omaha isn't really barren... Go downtown tonight and have some fun, the bars are actually alright. As for the high school track, the stadium seats more then Eugene....
Thanks Will. When you get a chance, tell us how many people filled those stands. It would be interesting to get a head count. And who is the dude running in the 400 who almost broke 45 seconds?

And Drake had no problem at all filling the stands for NCAAs. You clearly know nothing about these facilities, for a meet where the average event is 10 people, it's fine. It's not like you'd be there if it was in Minneapolis anyways, what's your beef?

You are being way too generous thinking that the average event has 10 people in it. There are a whole lot of 3s and 4s that pull the average down.
What is the point of this meet and who is footing the bill for it?
Ae looked into going. Unless you live in Denver, Dallas, Detroit, or Chicago - it was impossible to get a same day flight into Omaha that didn't cost a fortune. In the women's steeple they were running over 6 minute miles. The women's 10K was slower than most Turkey Trots. The USATF either needs to scrap this event or totally commit to revamping it.

How many people ever fill the stands for Club Track? Hardly any, it is CLUB TRACK its been a joke for the last 10 years. USATF puts up $0 for this meet it is all done by the Local Organizing Committee. Omaha was the only city to put in a bid for this year so that is where it went. Why dont you get off your lazy ass, put in a bid, bring it to your city, do a better job, then talk $hit.
why is some guy from trinidad running (and winning the 400) at the UNITED STATES club champs?

Seriously, what is the point of this meet?

I think the point was to show the lack of support for clubs track in this country...

"It's" and "don't"
Learn how to use third grade grammar and people might start to take you seriously.

Maybe you should think of an original rebuttal instead of the tired grammar "insult". It is a message board, no one cares.
