i mean seriously, are you all drunk, pay attentoin to the stats, gene weis might be the greatest coach of all time, no he didnt win any championships, but with the money he was given, he pulled out good teams. This guy was making 30,000 dollars a year, and given 3 scholarships a year. Obviously no know understands how important money it to a non-revenue generating sport like track. Thanks to title IX, the sport has no money to give in scholarships, so any team who can give scholarships gets the best athletes, its simple. Coach woMANN has had great teams year in and year out. Well anyone can get a great team if you have money to work with. I mean i've never coached a team, but give me the money he has to work with and i'll throw together a conference championship team. Its a joke, everyones talkin about how good of a coach he is. Coaching is the most overatted part of a non-revenue generating sport. In basketball and football, coaching is important because everying gives full rides, and athletes go to a school because of coaching. But in a sport like track, these athletes go where the money is. Not too many athletes would take the 2,000 dollars they could have recieved under gene weis, instead of the full-ride they could have got under Ron Mann. I mean how can you compare too coaches like that. Coach weis took a group of athletes who split 3 scholarships, and took 3rd in conference. Coach Mann was giving all of his athletes full-rides. Its a world of difference. Coach Weis deserves to go to the coaching hall of fame. Ron Mann should go to the hall of shame.
