24 minutes in a 5k? That's like 7:30 pace, I'm not entirely sure if she's quick enough to do a 50 miler. Don't be one of those crazy dad's that push their kids to to their dreams.
Chubby girls do best in Ultras because you need to burn fat over long distances. So if she doesn't have some love handles, have her eat more olive oil, omega 3, cheese, fried dough, nuts, and other healthy fats. I mean, don't let her get obese or anything, because that's hard on the knees over a hundred miles. Just chubby.
Update: My had my daughter run a 30 miler today as you guys told me to and she is now in the hospital with severe dehydration. I did not allow her to have much water becasue i feel like that makes you weak on a long run. I am kind of concerned about her because the doctor said she almost had a heat induced stroke. I Will let her recover for a few days and have her try it again.
Worst troll of all time? No. Very, very bad troll? Yes.

We're talking ultras here. Any sign of speed and she would be too fast twitch for ultras. 8 minute pace max seems to be the general rule of thumb for women ultra runners.
Not quite. Amy Sproston won the World 100k Championships in 7:34:08- about 7:18 pace. Giorgio Calcaterra took the men's title in 6:23:20- about 6:10 pace.
Not bad for 2 1/3 marathons.
David Riddle ran 6:45:19 for 5th place. I saw David at the Englewood 50k in Dayton, Ohio over the weekend, where he was basically training for the Western States 100, which begins on June 23.
I assume he'll be one of the favorites.
Dear Mr. Bonzo,
That is really unfortunate that your daughter had to go to the hospital. I hope this doesn't discourage her further training.
After she gets out i say she should try it again but this time let her have a little bit of water, that way she should be easily be able to run the 30 miles.
Good Luck!

Uh, no, he lost a 50K in the middle-of-nowhere Ohio to some no-name guy who averaged 7-minute miles for less than 32 miles. I don't think he'll be one of the favorites.
Let me spell it out for you .. wrote:

Western States is coming up on the 23rd. David ran Englewood as a training run. He also ran bundled up like it was winter time- presumably to prepare for the heat in the canyons at WS, which can be brutal. And, he did go out immediately for at least another 7.5 mile lap at Englewood after he finished the 50k. Again, training run mentality. Trust me, he would have won this race easily.
I'm not saying that David Riddle is going to light it up at Western States. It is certainly possible, though.
Here's a link to an article on Riddle from last year:

Too much, dude. Back to a 1/10
Sir, your daughter sounds quite hot. May I request her hand in marriage? In return I offer my 3 finest cows and 6 goats.
