That video proves two things:
1. There were television cameras at the meet, and yet no one has come forward with complete videos of the races in question (1500, 3000, 10K).
2. The meet also featured a national record in the 100 meters, by .16 seconds, no less.
I'll let you weigh those pieces of evidence and what they say about the legitimacy of the performance by the Chinese women's distance team. I completely agree that it would have required a conspiracy to shorten the track, start from the wrong line, fiddle with timing, etc. I don't see, however, how that's any different than systematically falsifying the ages of Chinese gymnasts. Chinese athletic institutions don't exactly have a squeaky clean reputation.
Unfortunately nobody outside of our small fan base has the slightest care for women's distance running.

The writer talks about the EPO headache. What's interesting is that during Junxia's Olympic run she mentions having the worst migraine of her life. That's somewhat incriminating.

Yes, because of course no woman has ever had a headache without the use of EPO. That is ridiculous.
I don't claim to know the truth. I'm just as willing to believe she ran 200 mpw and was one of the only people to survive the training.
That doesn't erase the correlation. We just still don't know if there's causation.

I don't believe the records are legit.
I don't think it covered the full distance, one way or another (short track, wrong line, etc).
I feel they were likely on drugs as well.
But I don't have any ill will towards the athletes.
These women just ran and competed hard.
And they did what they were told.

I think the fact she was competing while clearly ill, losing weight rapidly, and suffering from Neurasthenia is the bigger factor.

Paula only race if she is 100 percent. Even if she is 100 percent she runs slow times like in Vienna. And Paula is afraid of competition. If she wants to be competitive she would've ran Nyc mini 2012 her last chance to run or anywhere else. Bet Paula will line up for olympics with only 1 race that ruins her confidence.
Why do you think the threats were from some where else? In the interview it was mentioned at that time Wang already left Ma's squad, which had been trying to interfere Wang's training and had been threatening her all the time. Wang's then coach Mao had to move their training base to the south (Nanjin) so they could continue their training. Later, Wang quit the 10K national Olympics qualification race after she received threats from Ma's gang after winning the 5K qualification race.
The Google translator is crap. Wang did mentioned she got sick a lot when she was training with Ma (30km in the morning, 20 in the afternoon + high intensity) and even after she left Ma. Sounds like it took her ~1.5 year to recover from overtraining (the symptoms she mentioned). She also said that many of her teammates in Ma's squad might be more talented than her. But they were injured/overtrained a lot to have good race results. She thinks they were too young to take up that heavy amount of training from Ma.
One point she mentioned to prove her achievement might not be solely from Ma's training is that she beat Ma's entire squad the first time she raced with them when she just started with him.
While I have great sympathy for Wang and her old teammates, I've read about they might have been (unknowingly) doped by their coach Ma.
Tired of the question mark about Paula. She knows herself she is past her best. Wouldn't Paula line up for a competivie race before London Olympics? Vienna was a stupid run with no competitors. Karma bite Paula for ducking the competition and running by herself in a stupid vienna race.
