Doping is NOT expensive, a 3-month cycle of pharma grade testosterone will cost you less than 50$ bought over the net (please google it). 250mg a week is a solid dose for a male. 100mg a week would give a female test levels above those of a healthy young man.HGH costs about triple that.Even EPO is relatively cheapAt the local gym you can get it even cheaper.Designer steroids is expensive, thats about it.

Marion was dirty even in high school. Johnny Cochran defended her. Look it up.

I read somewhere (might be NYTimes) when she was stripped of her Olympic medals that early on when she's still in high school she was already very close to people/coaches who had been linked to doping. She was warned to better stay away from those guys. But she shrugged it off.

Everybody who is a very good athlete understands that the body can be pushed beyond its limits, and failure then results--even if you are in great shape. This applies to muscles as well as other tissues and structure.

Sprinting is a strange thing--to be able to go essentially all-out, you have to train a huge amount, and have headroom in your musculature, because otherwise your brain can drive your muscles past their breaking point. Fitness plays a part, as does form and control. 'roids help create that headroom that keeps athletes training. 'roids also help any injuries that do happen heal MUCH faster.

Take my recent groin tear--I felt some indications two workouts ago, but I went and did a subsequent workout anyway, and went hard, and afterwards it was torn. I have seen guys using, who have had similar indications, but who were completely healed 2 days later, doing hard workouts--or at least healed sufficiently to not kill themselves doing a mediocre workout. Another poster on another thread described a similar groin injury trajectory to mine, minor indications, followed by more workouts leading to real damage.

Doped in HS/college or not, Marion is full of crap. Actually, I think that Marion is a butterhead, like Gatlin. I think she honestly believes much of what she says, because she's not bright enough to understand why it is bullcrap.

Also, her boyfriends were butterheads, too.

Jones spent time in the federal pen after being convicted of LYING to prosecutors. Why would anyone ever believe what she says now?

This woman is a prime example of the stain on our sport that is drugs and cheating.

She hasn't learned anything! And people trying to say as she does that the drugs didnt even make her better, just look at the A standard qualifiers in the 100 in this country. Notice how many women are hitting 11.0, 11.1, etc. but only a couple are sub 10, and then there's someone like Pharmalita Jeter hitting 10.7

COME ON! To be able to improve by even a TENTH can be a massive difference, and one that puts them clearly out there with drug use. She has involved herself with known drug cheats her entire career. Every guy she was even ever with ended up a drug cheat too. Her coaches, teammates. She deserved even more jail time then she got fr all the money she stole, prizes she took, lies she told in court, oh and her little "innocent" check fraud scheme with her boyfriend Tim Montgomery, who's just as big as trash as she is.

Give LIFETIME bans to these people, and we will STOP having this problem as badly as we have.

I highly doubt she was doping back in high school. She was always fast even during age group track. Besides look at her photos in high school compared to when she was doping as a pro. She wasn't muscular at all as a high school student.

She is amazingly gifted physically, and so are many who get into big time sports. But when the greed sets in, the cheating can take a 11.0 sprinter to a 10.7 sprinter no doubt. But the drugs arent her real problem. The real problem is that time and time again she has shown herself to be a pathological liar, who takes no advice from anyone, and simply believes she is going to do what she wants and there is nothing wrong with that. Her "mistakes" were CRIMES, but whatever Marion, she can live in her little dream world, and we can respond by negating everything she ever accomplished and refuse giving her a forum to spread her BS.

In 1992 he ran 200m in 24,09 (very bad time for an adult). After that she didn't compete for 5 years (so no doping tests for her, it was planned). Then she came back in 1997 and became world champion in 100m. Very suspicious. In 1998 she did her 100m, 200m and long jump records.

Without doping she would have run ~11,30s in 100m at her best in +2,0m/s wind.

Just like Gatlin, Marion did not need drugs to run fast, perhaps they would not have been as dominant, especially in mutiple events. Drugs mainly help sub-elites get to the elite status or elites in the twlight of their career stay in the game. Drugs have less of an effect on the truely elite; drugs will not improve your reaction, bones, tendons, ligiments, biomechanics and competitive spirts, which the truely elite already have.

Gold or no gold. Special vitamins or no special vitamins. It doesnt matter. Either way, she did not deserve negative media attention or prison time.

She cheated our profession, she lied for years and even tried to get people to support her in those lies. She committed fraud to her sponsors, theft in her races in competing illegally and taking prizes and money away from clean athletes. She committed perjury. She committed check fraud, and lied and perjured herself in that regard too.

She tried to sue multiple people for defamation when it turned out it was ALL TRUE!

YES, she deserved prison time, and deserved even more. Her entire career was a fraud, and in any other business that would be called stealing, misrepresentation, and fraud. Oh, and not only would you be fired, charged, but sued as well. Marion Jones is a pathological liar, who still refuses to speak the whole honest truth, but yet is now parading around with a "everyone makes mistakes" speaking forum, and conveniently forgets that these weren' mistakes, but rather calculating actions that happened over many years.
