Kinda hard to be a 10k specialist when he's never run one. While Lagat may finish higher at the Olympics this year, Rupp will definitely run much faster than Lagat this season. This will be the last we see of Bernie, unless there's a new drug coming out of course.
Good point, he just ran an indoor pr for 5k - clearly he is barely hanging on.

I think Lagat will be happy to have a medal as opposed to the faster time this year.

Based on his H.S. and NCAA results, I would agree DT is perhaps a "consistent over-achiever", but I would like to see him "over-achieve" when it really matters. Up to now, DT best races against the top tier athletes have come in situations where he had a great race and a few guys where off their game. What's interesting is if you got together all of the top milers in the world right now, very few would be able to run 3:35...so he is off the a good start.
