Should I transfer and switch sports?

Wait, so you have the talent to play in a D1 school for basketball, but you chose to run instead and go to a D3 school? HAHAHA

i quit D1 track/xc for a year to play D3 football. it was fun, i dont regret it, but i ended up going back to D1 to run.

i played basketball against a couple mid-level D1 players in high school and they were insanely good, and also 6'4 or taller. how tall are you? what are your running times/basketball stats?

That makes more sense, less competition allows great female athletes to excel at most all sports.

it takes a combination of so many variables to be successful at bball, one of which is basketball iq. Most people can only get the bball iq by playing for years and years. Duncan is one of the few who picked up basketball immediately.

And I am 170 lb 800m runner. Not 6'3 though. About 6'0 and still growing.

Consulted doc and thinks I would be about 6'2 in 1 to 2 years. Bit small, but for a walk on guard sufficient I would think.

Always been very quick so my size hasn't hindered me. Shooting would be my greatest strength as I have been the best shooter of any team I've ever been on. (Should end if I walked on haha)

I'm always curious about people who are like this. I had a buddy run 4:3x in high school, go to a top tier NAIA school (still pretty bad but they had 2 sub 25 8k guys) and is now telling me he hates running competitively and wants to quit. I mean come on if I felt like I didn't like running I would have figured it out a long time ago!

To be fair I didn't run in high school.

The only sport I played in high school was basketball. Basketball was the only sport I played my whole life.

You cannot walk on at ANY DI program for basketball, let alone a top 25 one. Maybe a Harvard type program, but considering you're DIII (notwithstanding your obvious lack of perspective and intelligence), there's no chance you have those kind of smarts.

If you really had the talent to play DI, even as a walk on, you would have been recruited widely and would not be running at a DIII school, you would be playing basketball there trying to get to the next level.

You largely overestimate your athletic ability. Hundreds of guys on here could run circles around you, on the track or on the court.

Also, the reason you are unhappy is because you are an ungrateful ba*tard. You are fortunate enough that your parents are paying for your education (even though you weren't athletic enough OR smart enough to get some money for them, must be frustrating), yet still find a way to whine about something. I don't need to prove myself to anyone. I can assure you I can get into the basketball school I am applying to. I don't know the people who post here so I am not going to comment on there athletic ability.

If there really are hundreds of kids here who could "run circles around me" on the track and on the court then I applaud you for being pretty dam good.

Darkstar let me put this in more simple terms for you since you failed to understand the original post. I would be going to one of the top 25 schools in the country for *Basketball*.

I did not say I would be attending one of the top 25 schools for academics... While yes I believe I could attend one of those as well, that is a totally different topic that needs not be brought up in this thread.

I'm on a half tuition academic scholarship right now silly. Don't derail the thread.

Because I have always wanted to be French. I think I could quit my life here in the USA and get elected President of France. I am not very tall, so I believe I could easily be a walk on candidate.

If need be, I can pay a middle aged former French Model to play the role of my wife.
