Generally around MP or a little slower. Depends on the day. Some days MP effort might actually be quite a bit slower than MP if I'm tired or something. I don't taper for a hard 10 miler, so MP effort with 100 miles in your legs might be 15 seconds per mile slower than your actual marathon pace.
I run mine at 5 minute pace.
But stop after one mile
I've never run a marathon or a half marathon but my hard 10 milers are usually 20-25 seconds slower than my 10k pace per mile.
If you are not jogging, then pacing is a hard run.

He then asks to put that in terms of MP or HMP. So you lose.
For me, pretty much right around MP.
As a guy training for the HM (PR of 1.06 low) I run 30-35 sometimes 40 min at 5.20/3.20-pace. That puts me around 87-88% of max pulse...

"how fast are your 'hard' 10-milers? Run 'em around mp? Between hmp and mp? Slower than mp?"
