After the race in Monaco, Solinsky said he should have kept going in order to get the A standard. He doesn't have the A standard in either the 10,000 or the 5000, and I believe he wants to keep his options open to double.
Solinsky could cruise a 13:18 at Mt. Sac then a 27:20 at Stanford in May. If Ritz ain't marathon ready then he might be doing something like that too. Of course, the first B Standard bearer to cross the line is in.
As far as it being hard to run the A Standard, Run the Trials, and be ready to race well at the Olympics, Solinsky showed in 2010 that sort of thing can be done.
He ran 26:59 in May and maintained this to September where he ran 12:56 and 7:34 (in between May 1 and September 1 he ran 12:56, 13:08, and 12:55 also).
