Way to go Centro!!!!!!!!! Fantastic Run!!!!!!!! You did it dude! Even better things are still to come!!!!!

The outcome of the race was perfect in a number of ways.

1) The three runners who were most impressive throughout the rounds got the medals.

2) Kiprop, the Olympic champion and one of the greatest 1500 guys in history in my mind, finally got the opportunity to cross the line first at a global championship.

I know as a 'journalist' you aren't supposed to root but Kiprop is my boy. When he first came onto the scene, I said he just different and the Bolt of distance running. His Olympic win was overshadowed by the cheating of the guy who beat him and then terrible tactics cost him in 2009.

3) Centro got a much deserved, but unexpected (at least coming in) medal.

PS. I'm gonna admit that when I was watching the final 50, I was rooting big time for Kiprop and Centro. But even as an American I was reall pleased to see the order be exactly as it was. Barringer's gold was almost too shocking for my brain to handle.

Imagine if in this race that Kiplagat fell and Kiprop got DFL and Centro crossed the line first. Well that's not really a good analogy. The near-perfect analogy for the that would be if Wheating got first - a guy with a superfast pb who had been struggling this year.

Centro ran a near perfect race. The backstretch on the final lab was critical to his success. He went from 8th place at the start of the backstretch, with O'Lionaird, into fine position on the turn for his final kick down the homestretch.

Great race for Centro; very good World Championships for USA

Come on he was on the inside and got boxed at the bell and lossed time waiting for a gap round the bend at that point. He did very well to get bronze from there though

What? How is he one of the greatest ever?

As you pointed out, this is the first time he has crossed the finish line first in a global championship.

This is only his second medal.

And his PR is 3:31.20, the 50th fastest man ever.

Centro will be the next 1500m King. His reign will begin next year. Mark my words!

That's a semi...good video though...Solinsky can learn alot from Centro...watch him push back when getting rammed into the rail.

wow, he was still gaining ground quickly when he crossed the line. A few more feet and he would have been silver.

I still laugh every time I see that Centro won bronze. He's 21. Just a kid. And has to asked for attention from the ladies through interviews. It's like a letsrun fan boy on the medal stand.

I hope he takes a video of this final home to OR and plays it for Wheating to show him: this is how you run a race - you stay mid- to front of the pack and then kick. You don't try kicking from dead last and hope to place.
