Caster Semenya Aims For 800 and 1500 Records

If s/he tested squarely within the female gender norms we would have heard about it by now. The fact that this information is being kept secret tells me she is more man than woman. Personally, if I were a female 800m runner I would choose to run another event. Let the s/he race against himself.

This is totally wrong. Caster's original results and results of any testing or intervention has not and will not be released. Confidentiality is a major athlete right. There were media reports that she had an intersex condition and undescended testicles. Those reports have not been confirmed by anyone in an official capacity.

Caster also may have partial or complete androngen insensitivity syndrone. In a past case Pamela Jelimo was required to undergo hormone treatment in order to continue to compete. This was in a leaked IAAF e-mail. There were also 7-8 other cases of AIS in which the athlete submitted to hormonal treatments or retired. I think it is likely that Caster is not "coasting" these races but is undergoing hormonal treatment and that is beginning to affect her times. I don't think Pamela Jelimo will ever run times similar to what she ran in 2008.

Spot on. But to add to this: if the results would have been that she is "100% female" then I am pretty sure that she would have released the results to silence the doubters. The fact that she didn't speaks for itself.

At least IAAF should post the numbers and a narrative of what they accept as the female/male boundry values and circumstances.

Agree 100%. Most frustrating thing about this whole situation, IAAF can't point to any standard at all.

The 1500 WR is of an altogether higher standard than the 800 and Semenya's 1500 showings have been poor to say the least.

I will eat my hat if Semenya runs 3:50 - I doubt she'll even break 4 to be honest.

Afaik she has had some gender therapy and it's all resolved. What isn't resolved is that, impliedly, before her therapy, she was ineligible when she won the last World champs.
