Goes back that far. Dyestat forums from back then never held much of a positive opinion of Rupp. Seemed like only Ryan Deak was hated more. I assume many of those same posters still roam here.

The people who dislike Rupp are geeky nerdy guys who can't run themselves and need to take it out on someone better than themselves. Truth is that Rupp works hard and people on here hate success if its not them. Why in the world would you spend time on a message board hating a guy who is representing our country and seems to be a nice guy and is running well. Maybe you loosers should try to learn from him and improve yourselves and get a girlfriend for crying out loud.
It seems like human nature not to like monopolies and that we like to support the underdog. But beyond that...
G.R. is processed, controlled and shaped in such a way that seems to takes away his persona. No one really knows behind the exterior of that gentle and almost timed facade, but we do know he is shaped, flown here and there, provided the best of the best. He almost seems robotic. His deal seems totally scripted.
So it's no wonder why so many see Chris, a real guy with charisma and personality. It's his realness that makes it enjoyable to see him break the highly processed GR.
Rupp and Al Sal made a mockery of Rupps time in the NCAA, flights to altitude training whilst in school is a great advantage over other athletes and if the school wasn't providing it it's as good as sponsorship. In my eyes it's an unfair advantage and pretty much cheating.
I dont trust Al Sal or any of that group. No smoke without fire.That might not sound fair but it's a fact.
Galen will probably not medal at the Worlds or Olympics.
Rupp,Solinsky,Tegenkamp,& Hall will probably not medal in the next four years.
I have no doubt that there will be some people who will be thrilled by that result.
Like I said Rupp the pup is a marvel. One of the wonders of the world despite his asthma handicap. He's one of the most incredible genius to ever run/walk the face of the earth.

As a Brazilian (outsider) and a runner and track fan for over 30 years. I believe is jealousy. I haven't a talent as Galen for at least 20 years , maybe 30. He has a long way ahead, he will be the greatest american distance runner of all time.I can't understand the american people, they Bernard lagat ass ( drug cheater, old and Kenyan) and talk trash about Galen. ( a clean, american young long distance star/phenomenon) ????

Athletics Kenya Lifts Ban on Bernard Lagat
The Standard Reporter reports that Kenyan athletics chiefs have lifted the provisional suspension on Olympics 1500m bronze medalist, Bernard Lagat. Lagat is free to race again after his B sample tested negative to blood-boosting drug Erythropoieitin (EPO).
"We have sent a letter to Lagat and we wish him the best of luck in the coming weeks, given that we are approaching Olympics year," said Athletics Kenya secretary general David Okeyo.
On September 5, Athletics Kenya imposed a provisional suspension on Lagat pending further investigation after samples obtained tested positive to EPO. Lagat vehemently denied he ever took such substances.

dos Santos, Galen seems processed and privileged beyond all other US competitors that there by nature a contempt for him as a result. But not for him as an individual per se, but really the process, that makes him what he is.
