It's not about stored fuel. It's about your blood sugar.
There are 3 things that you need to do (or at least 2/3)
1. take carbs during a marathon with liquid
2. carbo load 3 days before
3. eat breakfast 3-4 hours before
According to Lore of Running, that is. it's not all clear or cut and dry, so let's hear from some ex phys peeps.
You also gotta figure out what you can handle. I think there's a line between helping and hindering.
Does anyone think that keeping a good level of fat/protein in the days before helps?
