That kid won the national xc aau for 10 year olds running 10:14 for 3k. He won by 34 seconds.
No matter what the kids run it doesn't matter if they don't enjoy it and continue on. I know for a fact that the original kid in question has his Dad following him in all his races and screaming commands at him the whole time. Someone tell me this is the right way to go about things.

And are also less likely to improve through adolescence. Boys are guaranteed to improve even if they don't train at all. And man that kid that ran 17:42 at 10 is amazing. Even if he doesn't win olympic gold, he can always be proud he ran 17:42 at 10 years old.
i bet the course was net downhill and wind aided
