True, true, but this video isn't theirs. Someone ripped it off the internet stream and uploaded it. I was surprised to see a New Balance ad with it. Tons of copyright issues. Same reason you don't see ads on a lot of unauhtorized tv clips on youtube.

Lots of interesting story lines here; and as the Brojos said, it was like Christmas in March for an American TF fan.

Would have loved to see Rupp in that race, but will be excited to watch him in NY Half.

Anyone know of the next races for these guys?

(OTC?, Lagat? Mottram?)

Also, heard the announcers say something about Mottram getting back into the triathlon??? Hopefully not?

Webb's 1500 was a great race, but Teg's got a long way to go.

Tegenkamp, nicest guy, stood around with him whilst lagat was being mobbed for autographs. Had a chat with him, asked where his usual lanang's where, he replied with "they're on the way back, I wore something alot like them tonight"

As an australian track fan, must reiterate how relaxed the american OTC crew were, all on their own whilst lagat was autograph central, were more than happy to have a chat with myself and a few guys out of my training group, genuinely nice guys and set a great example for professional athletes.

yeah, and whose side are you on anyway?f*** copyright when it comes to recorded races. truth is, if it wasn't for new media outlets, many of these races wouldn't see the light of day. hell, even races from the 70s are only seen now because of youtube and a few brave swabbies, and certainly not because of the copyright owners!long live all who post races!

Big Mazungo is coming back - he was shooting for 13:30. Finally !

It definitely sounds like he was just trying to be conservative with a couple of laps left to make sure he didn't blow up and miss the A-standard. His KIMbia journal about the race:

You can't compare, and you certainly can't extrapolate, from a different year unless you know the exact training that they have been doing. Given that they flew to Australia with the stated intention of getting the "A" standard, it is likely that they are a little more specifically prepared at this time (so as not to have to chase times earlier in the "normal" outdoor season - May) than in previous years at this time. One might argue that Teg ran USATF XC (but not going to worlds?), as if that interfered with his track preparation, but that doesn't necessarily fly either - they didn't run under 13.00 (as both Teg and Sol have previously, or Lagat) so they aren't necessarily summer sharp (they don't need to be to go under 13.20 yet anyway). This doesn't necessarily mean that they will progress to times all that much faster than their PR's as a comparison to previous years, however. They might, but it isn't a given simply based on performances in this time period as a comparison, which is what you seem to be implying.

Anyone know if the Issac Songok coming in 9th in 13:38 is the same guy that ran 12:49 behind Bekele in the Zurich 5k in 2006?? link to that race:

If that is the case, its amazing that this race had 5 sub 13 runners in it. Talk about a deep field.
