By the way Salazar's group is referred to as the Nike Oregon Project these days. They want to be different from the other two OTC groups

Isn't it the opposite? Didn't they used to be the Oregon Project and have since been absorbed by the Oregon Track Club?

I would guess he was also looking for a way out of the UK in the media frenzy that will surround him leading up to 2012. The paps are INSANE over there.

Nike doesn't do anything that isn't financially motivated.

Hopefully Mo got some big big bucks to do this. From a training point of view though, it makes little sense.

Don't see it this way. Adding a world class athlete to the mix should only help the Americans. In fact it would be great for the Americans training at OTC to add four or five top Ethiopians and Kenyans to these training groups (not that this will happen).

Mo had the best year of his career last year.

This guy gets it.

For all of you wondering why Mo is being coached by AlSal, ponder this:

#1. He is a great training partner for Galen. Same fitness and talent level. Galen will have him by his side for every single workout, that is huge. Others in the group are focusing on different events, so they only sometimes train with Galen. Mo will be doing everything Galen does.

#2. Mo's Adidas contract expires this spring. He will not be renewing it. He will of course sign with Nike. Where are the next OLY Games being held? Right, his home country! MO and Paula will be the two British hopes for a medal on track and will gets tons of press leading up to the games. Nike Europe will use these two for their marketing campaigns.
