The whole "waking up after a good session" sounds more like the work of a succubus than that of a stress fracture!
Stress fractures are excruciatingly painful. Palpation of the areas right at the injury is painful. You went two weeks ago and it showed nothing? Presumably, your doctor asked you to come back?
Fed up with the bike/swim bullshit? Fine. Try walking an hour or two every day. Try jogging a block then walking two for awhile. Only you can tell how you are progressing. If it's getting better, you're probably on the right track, if not, back off.
Osteoblasts go to work immediatly upon fracture. The follow up xray would show it. Regardless, the diagnosis is the job of your doctor, not anonymous nitwits who earned their medical degrees from Dyestat.
